They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I must be blind as I fail to see the attraction of this aircraft - with apologies to those that do.

It just looks like it was designed by someone who had no sense of style at all or was on drugs! And the shape of the vertical tailplane and rudder assembly - arrgghh!

Won't be on my purchase list I'm afraid but all credit to Alabeo for producing what may well turn out to be a niche aircraft.

Taff

Shall be purchasing this on release. I have a few hours in a G model and find it a lovely aeroplane to fly. Didn't like operating off of grass very much as the coiled undercarriage lead to a few bounces here and there. My friend always knew when we were about to touch down as my knees would suddenly move to one side! :)

It's all just a matter of personal preference, I like 'Art Deco' in most things, the Staggerwing being a prime example.

Dont know my Staggerwing model designations ...what model is Alabeos?

Coincidentially this Staggerwing has just arrrived in NZ after having none here for a few years. A "G17S".

Dont know my Staggerwing model designations ...what model is Alabeos?. . . . .
Alabeo isn't a Staggerwing model, it's the name of the Flightsim Development group that's modeling it for FSX.

Alabeo's Staggerwing appears to be a D model...the D17S, which I believe is the most common variant still around.

The G17S has a larger engine cowling area.

No gauges in the vc at this stage... 2d gauges? fail... I hate it when dev's choose 2d to allow copyright protection... the pirates are stunting better development for ease of control. :( But no gauges... as keen as I am to buy this one, means a few weeks atleast.

Yep the Stag sure is a real beauty. It is on my 'must get' list. Paul, have you guys over at GAS ever thought about taking on this 'other' beauty of the era? I know there were lots of 'beauties' back then but this one is up there with the Staggerwing IMHO...the WACO SRE?:applause:

Here is my model of a SRE taking off from Catalina Island. I had a friend that owned one about 20 years ago and I modeled mine after his. It is FSX native and available at flightsim and simviation.

Lets not sidetrack this post, but im still here. My forums were shut down due to spam. Making FSX aircraft is just a hobby for me, so I dont have much to work on new projects or babysit forums. Back to the Stagger Wing! Looking forward to seeing more of the interior soon!
