Nice.
Now that they have all their criteria input into this version, what's next on their agenda to add for physics?

Let us know how you like it....

If you just change the install directory it should install the files OK but it wont update the dll.xml so you need to do that manually.

I didn't bother install to P3D at all. I just copied the files across from FSX and edited the dll.xml and it works like a charm.

Right click it and open with notepad, copy the entries from your FSX one.
There's two entries one for "A2A_Feel.dll" and one for "AccuFeelMenu.dll"

The P3D one is in "C:\Users\{YOUR NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D"
and the FSX one is in "C:\Users\{YOUR NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX"

If you copy the files over manually you will need the "Prepar3D\A2A\Feel" folder
and "A2A_Feel.dll" and "AccuFeelMenu.dll" in the "Prepar3D\Modules" folder.
If you don't have a Modules folder you can make one yourself.

"It", is the DLL.XML file.

Accu-Feel for Prepar3D
works just fine in P3D....Used the installer to install to P3D ...Manually updated the P3D dll.xml with the following copied from FSX:

The dll.xml file is in your (Windows 7) appdata-roaming-lockheed martin-prepar3d folder and add the following lines:

NOTE:(Right-click, open-with, Notepad.)

Look for the last entry on the bottom where it says </Launch.Addon>, then copy and paste the information (example in bold)

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>A2A Feel</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>Modules\A2A_Feel.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>AccuFeelMenu</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>Modules\AccuFeelMenu.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>

P.S.
Make sure that the information you paste in, is above the line </SimBase.Document>
That's it. Save and exit.
Once P3D is running, look under the "Add-ons" tab for AccuFeel

Here is a copy of my Prepar3D DLL.XML so you have visual reference of how it should actually look like when you add the needed info.

?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
<Descr>Launch</Descr>
<Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>FSUIPC 4</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>A2A Feel</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>Modules\A2A_Feel.dll</Path>

Yep, that's what I did, and yes it works:)

Hardest thing about the process (for me at least) was locating the .dll files. Not something I normally do. But it does work, and so cool!

Sorry about my rant.....
apparently, I've become a real SOB since my triple cabbage last year.
Reckon its the old "mortality-slap-upside-the-face" thing......

I appreciate the attempts at simplification, but it still looks like quantum physics to me.

.....maybe they'll eventually come out with a P3D installer.

LD, I'm here to help if I can. You are running Windows 7?
If so, you need to follow this directory road to get to the file that needs to be edited. Not difficult. Confusing, yes if you have never done it.

Follow this to get to the file you need to see "C:\Users\{YOUR NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D"
Once there, PM me and I am glad to help :)

went to P3D module and found A2A feel.dll and A2A feel menu.dll, but nothing shows up when I fire up P3D.

OK, lets see if we can make this happen. It should work.
Take the attached file (what's inside only) and drop it in the path you went to above.
Then fire up Prepar3D. Accu-Feel should then be activated and working.

luckdog, from the description of your problem it sounds like Windows is hiding the file extensions from you. You need to fix that before anything else.

I'll try to do baby steps for you (no offence) but ask if anythings not clear.
I amuse your using Windows 7 ?

Anything in "" is what you should read on the screen

Click the "Start" button and open "Control Panel".
First in the "Control Panel" if "View by:" is set to "Category" change it to "Large icons".
Now open "Folder Options".
Once the "Folder Options" window appears at the top click on the "View" tab.
Scroll down the list that appears until you find "Hide extensions for known file types" and untick it.
At the bottom of the window click "Apply" then "OK"
Close the "Control Panel"

Now in your appdata-roaming-lockheed martin-prepar3d folder that file called DLL should now be called DLL.XML

DB, that's pretty rude. Not your wanting to help, the form in which you're barging into "my" already helping.

Being as you see fit in your rudeness, carry on!

I'm sorry OleBoy, I didn't intend to be rude.

The tweak I just outlined though is something that should be on anyone's list of thing to do as soon as a fresh copy of Windows is installed so I thought it quite important.

I'm a bit stunned by your response but if that's the way you feel I'll step back and leave you to it.

That's quite alright, DB.

I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to a lot of things related to FS in general. I do what I can, where I can to help everyone.
I do not get the opportunity very often due to my slow means of pecking the keys to make response. By the time I do get what I want to say jotted down and ready for posting, someone else quicker on the keys has beat me to it. Not their fault. It's mine. It is discouraging though.

I must have been in one of my moods (no espresso this AM) and a hectic household as the sun rises for another day.

You're a knowledgeable individual, DB. And not to mention, quick (like most) on the keyboard. :icon_lol:

Hopefully the 'B' brothers won't mind me butting in too! :icon_lol:

While you are 'unhiding' your file extensions as DB has suggested, it might also be an idea to select the option a couple above that to "Show hidden files, folders and drives" as it is possible that the appdata\roaming folder may be hidden by default, which would explain why you couldn't find the file you need to amend.

Sorry if I've trodden on anybody's toes. i have no wish to offend anybody!

Best,
Myles

That did it Oleboy !!! Thanks a million !!

@ Sexy Redhead..........great info ( I didn't know that option existed ). There's a lot I need to learn.....

@ Miles.........appreciate your input..

@ Navy Chief.........thanks for the offer of assistance.

So far I've taken a 208, Aeronca Champ, and Albeo's Waco around the pattern. Looks like I'll have to adjust the sliders pretty far right
to get the effects / sounds I'm used to. Same with you guys ???

I purchased the upgrade as a registered owner of the original Accu-Feel but experienced a problem with it not showing in P3D. Before embarrasing myself and posting a question that had already been asked I decided to do the old RTFT from the beginning and quickly the answers I was looking for. Thanks heaps fellas.

Yes Ole. Today Installed, works well. Install it to P3Dv2 (I put here to FSX.exe) folder and next You must put by notepad:

The FSX Add-On / Accu-Feel Setup pull down menu is missing.
1. Using a text editor like Notepad, open your C:\Users\[YOUR USER NAME]\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml file and verify these entries exist:
(If you cannot find the dll.xml, In WINDOWS, open your CONTROL PANEL / Appearance and Personalization / Folder Options / View / then click on "Show hidden files, folders, and drives)
