Did A2A have a sale too...?? Glad I missed that one... :icon_lol:

Got the Razbam Kestrel for $5, the captain sim 737-200 and 777-200 for €10 each, the Milviz Sabre at 50% off, and just bought the Bear Studios MiG-17 at 50% off during sale and another 10% off because it's 'ten off Tuesday', so it was a bit over $10.

I picked up the Carenada 210 and the Caravan for my 2004 installation. It has the better clouds, frame rates, and I can have gobs more buildings and other auto-gen enabled than my FSX. I bought the RealAir Lancair and I can barely fly it. It brings my poor computer to it's knees and makes it beg for mercy.

New computer is in the works, but I'm so close to paying off my real estate, I'm willing to wait. So I'll fly FS9 for the winter.

Haven't jumped on any sales yet, tho I did pick up FTX Milford Sound. Great place for RVing. The only thing on my 'must get' list for the forseeable future I am a beta tester for. Other than that, FTX Northern CA is on the high priority list. Many 'would be nice' projects on the horizon tho, will see what the FS funding dictates then.

Cheers

Beginning from Black Friday I have enjoyed the Fsdt airports and gsx a lot.a

Best bargain was definitely cs737-200, with Air California repaint I've flown between LA and Vegas like crazy.

I tried to grab the F-86 but that mountain was too high for me to climb.

From Carenado I took the ever so stylish V35B.

Three new Uk2000 airports are also very nice to have.

Santa (in this case myself;-) got me:

1. FSAddons Lockheed Hudson
2. Carenado Skymaster
3. German Airports Duesseldorf
4. German Airports Weeze
(both airports right in my "back of the woods")
5. Airport Innsbruck X

This will keep me busy for a while, though there are still some tempting x-mas-specials there at the moment.

Alex

Yikes! I went a little overboard on all the sales. I did a twelve addons of Christmas thing (Not to mention all the great freeware I was gifted this season!) I'll have plenty of flying to do this year.

Ahh, the Eaglet. I did the beta (demo) for a little while. Awesome plane from Ant. I never ended up getting the thing (even though I said I would)... a little too slow for me. But I'm looking forward to his T-28!

Thinking about the Carenado T-34 - I had the FS2004 version but wasnt that impressed and am thinking that the newer model may be almost the same thing?

Loving the V35 though, but notice it doesnt do that yawing in the air, that the real one does. Sat in the back once and it made me quite sick with its constant movement.

I'll be glad when the month is over and I go back to buying the odd aeroplane every once and a while. Keep looking at the PCAviator site and 'thinking do I really need that?', but yesterday gave in and purchased the Alabeo SU-26.

Wish I had bought that earlier as am quite enjoying myself, but not so when trying to land - bouncy, bouncy - least go arounds are very quick. I like a challenge and this aeroplane is certainly giving me that now.

Best wishes,

Martin

It wasn't exactly a christmas sale, but I bit the "season" bullet and bought a 3D model of a F4U Corsair to have a look at it.
It has most animations, a good texture set with bump maps and a Photoshop paintkit, and seems to be compatible to FSX/P3D as far as the vertex count goes.
The royalty free license allows for game conversion and redestribution as long as the target format is proprietary.

It will give me something to do after the scenery work. But to bring this into the Sim will still be a big feat. I have never made an aircraft, but a lot of scenery objects.

Mark,

That Corsair looks great!
VC will be the most trouble. VC and Gauges is as much work to model as the exterior, maybe more. But it's a nice challenge!
When will your scenery be ready?

Cheers, Rob

I'm still at it. I have to revisit all places to check for elevation errors after correcting and bringing in the HD mesh into the scenery. But it's worth it, the new mesh looks stunning.
I'd rather give no ETA figures. It'll pop up some day in the near future :-)

Cheers,
Mark
