As far as I know, there is no demo available for the latest Railworks. I just checked it out on Steam, and they are having a 75% off sale so you can get it real cheap this weekend. $13.74 is a bargain compared to the regular price of $54.99. As of 11:30 p.m. Arizona time there are 35 hours left until the price goes up.

No, but it does go on sale from time to time at Steam. You can however get TS2012 for about $11 at Pilotshop. As soon as you connect to Steam it will be updated to the latest TS2014 at no charge.

Available as Boxed DVD (http://www.fspilotshop.com/railworks-ultimate-train-simulator-with-bonus-challenger-p-2425.html) or Download copy (http://www.fspilotshop.com/railworks-ultimate-train-simulator-challenger-download-p-3998.html).

Hope this helps. Warning, it can be addicting.

.
There's this one, which shows a nice smattering of the German, UK and North American routes/locos/trains:

Good deal! Without getting into details, there are very definite benefits to starting with TS2012 and having it upgraded. Essentially, you start-off with many more assets with which to play.

And then you begin adding, "just this one", at first . . . .

Mercy sakes, yes! +1 on the addiction factor!

PS: Highly recommend getting an XBox 360 USB Controller, if you don't have one. TS has all the necessary mapping ready to go, and they're cheap as chips at Amazon, or wherever.

Have to agree. Pretty much does it all and has some forcefeedback in the clanky spots.

I just wish they would allow other USB controllers too. The Saitek 3-axis quadrant would make an ideal controller for Trainsim IMHO.

Official TrackIR support would be nice as well.

As a workaround there is this (I haven't tried it yet): http://www.gplshift.dk/RW6/index.htm

Or CabViewKeys using the Numpad (works very well): http://cvk.pethu.se/
