The Wildcat will be lifted from Lake Michigan today, Dec.7th. It couldn't happen on a more appropriate day. :salute:

The FM-2 Wildcat is now on land,....after 70 years in the drink. There's a nice two minute video (located mid-way on the screen) that accompanies this latest update on the aircraft.

Willy,...hard to say how many are down there. I'm sure the US Navy Dept. won't be giving out any numbers....:kilroy:

At the bottom of the article it says the Navy says there are around 100 aircraft in the lake. Doesn't say if this was original total before any salvage operations, or present count after the ones which have been recovered.
