I'm not sure what happend, I'm assmuming a corrupt file, but I can't save a flight. No matter what when I hit "save" or "load" my beloved P3D crashes and restarts with a default flight. It's probably an easy fix but I can't find it. ANY ideas (with in reason:icon_lol:) would be appreciated!

Yep...this happened to me at least twice when P3D first came out, but I can't remember what I did to fix it.......
I'm pretty sure it was a nasty download.......the "admin" route didn't fix it. I think I just re-installed, but let me wrack
my remaining viable brain cells (burp!) and look-up some old forum threads......

If you are in a 64bit system, make sure you are running it in Administrator mode. Thats about the only issue.

I had the same issue when I first tried P3D. Ended up performing a re-install and that solved the issue. Luckily I had not started installing addons so it was easy. That's why I insisted to myself to check out everything for a few weeks before adding a single addon.

Where do you have P3D installed ?
Not in the C:\Program files or C:\Program files (x86) folder I hope
and is UAC (User Account Control) enabled in Windows (Vista and 7 only not XP)

If so that might be the problem, reinstall outside those folders or turn UAC off.
If you do the latter stop browsing for porn on that PC though :D

Mud,

Ok, finally remembered. BAD FILES .......... both aircraft and or mission. Do Not load a bunch of files all at once, you won't know which one is the baddie. What pithed me off is that removing the bad file will NOT correct the problem...........a fresh re-install was necessary.

Then where should it be installed? Please enlighten me! :-)

Anywhere but those two folders, UAC considers them system critical folders and puts extra effort into protecting them.
C:\Prepar3D will do if you only have the one drive but another drive is better, for instance mines in F:\Games\Flight\Prepar3D
