My mountain retreat in the wilderness.
The textures are placeholders to get a feel for the project.

Hello,

look good, especially with the wide bay window, nice open space, maybe some "velux" window on the roof, what's behind the house, grey parts ?
As for a link to Aviation, where's the hangar for your plane ??
Cheers.

I see the garage but more important, where's the hangar! :santahat:

It will be getting built soon. The contractor got delayed on another project.
I'm not quite finished with the modeling.

Looking nice OleBoy, are you using SketchUp Pro or is there a architectural pluggin for the free version? I want to move the kitchen in my house and this would really help in visualizing it.

Have you tried exporting the model to P3D yet and if so how did the transparency in the windows work for you?

Very nice! Some great architecture! Were you actually destined for architectural design?

Al,

This is the standard SketchUp version 8. When I create a new model I have the option of templates. You must have turned them off? I get the option every time.

Bill,

I took mechanical drawing, drafting and a number of courses/classes throughout my younger years. Along with a lot of hands on dealing with blue-prints. The building part is like riding a bicycle to me. Everything after that is pure frustration. :pop4:
There's one good thing about modeling. Well, many actually. I've yet to smash, cut or break any appendages, and I don't have to drive a work-shop on wheels to build them!!

Here's some more shots as I progress. The chimney is not finished, the deck is not built, and the rest of the windows need installed. My textures are not set in stone either as I can't make up my mind :icon_lol: I'm considering putting a weather vane on the roof, but then I might like that animated. Heck I don't know where it will go. I always fly by the seat of my pants!

New templates are in the works due to issues. So I figure I may as well do things a bit more realistic.

Wildlife is the theme. Either Deer, Elk. Moose, Raccoon, Squirrels on all doors and some windows.
Added a dormer for the loft.

A 15' x 27' deck has been added.

Thank you. A lot of it.
I should have stuck to painting things that fly. It's a laborious affair painting structures. :blind:

Nothing is set in stone yet, but here's an update of the back. The deck, uhh, is not finished yet. I'm having a mental debate of adding in another row of windows in the back wall with a sliding door. :icon_lol:
