Are there any plans for one in the future of FS? I don't think this one has been done...ever, that I know of? How many of you would purchase one if it were available? Just out of interest :) Maybe there's a reason it's never been done, and I'm one of the few big fans!

For those who are asking what's an FJ-3/4

There was supposed to be a freeware version of this coming out (it's been a few years in coming). I'm not holding my breath.......

I would. Was excited when SF8 anounced it but think its probably safe to say it isn't going to happen. There is an Fj3 in progress for the Thirdwire games, though I'd love to see the FJ4 if for no other reason than its rarity.

Vertigo Studios is going to do the FJ-4. No idea when it will be ready but if it is anything near as good as their Panther it will be a worth waiting for.

This is great news to me! :) Next to the F-86, I really love the FJ-series.

Outstanding news!!!!

Yes, that will be welcome indeed. Will fly the rivets out of an FSX FJ-4 or 3 - but especially the -4.

In the fast and furious days of the late 50s, these planes had short operational cycles, rapidly being overtaken by successively more capable fighters and attack aircraft.

I recall some conversations with Jan regarding projects to follow on from the SF8 - whether the D/L/K or the Furies. I think things are on hiatus there now, but there was certainly interest at one point.

There is a curious gap of US Naval aircraft of the late 50s period ... thankfully between a few decent FS9 portovers, and a a few lovely freeware FSX jewels (the Grumman S2 family, Piglet's A-1 Skyraider, to name a couple) this is slowly being populated. I'll happily await a Vertigo Fury - that would be just pure delight.

Regards,

DL

I thought I saw a post Deano saying they're not developing any other aircraft after the current lot of builds ie mossie, b25 and dc3

Well, that's not good news at all! Hopefully someone will choose the FJ-4. It's a great aircraft! :)

When/where did you read that? I am referring to Deano's post from Sep 30th, 2012:

"vstudios is currently working on a FJ 4 Fury
NOTE : Sorry, this is for FSX only"

god knows when it was i cant remember what i did yesterday let alone when he posted it, it was a reply to another post about something else, his post said something like "we will not be developing any further aircraft" (not exact words)

then the flurry of questions about the b25 and dc3 where asked, he mention no new works or something like that, if he had planned the fj4 before then so be it, but there where several comments about this decision

maybe deano or bruce might shed some more light
