After seeing the recent thread about a AN-26, I took a look into those files and made some minor adjustments. Both models fly and look great in FSX

75620 AN-12 external Glass Fix that needs to be added to each texture folder. This fixes the issue with the opaque external windows.

Copy the AN-12's sound files to the AN-26 sound folder to get a better more accurate engine sound.

That should cover it. Enjoy

Both are nice models and I used them in FS9 a lot and for now they are the only choice for FSX. The AN-12 opaque window texture issue with the windows was an easy fix as was the smoke. I almost forgot, I also adjusted the nosewheel steering contact point for the AN-12 and added differential braking(The differential braking edit can also be added to the AN-26). The
[Contact Points]:
point.0 = 1.000, 34.000, 0.000, -9.90, 3000.000, 0.000, 1.500, 60.000, 0.300, 2.500, 0.700, 11.000, 11.000, 0.000, 335.000, 340.000

parking_brake=1
differential_braking_scale=1.00000

Dimitri Samborski (Samdim) was working on a payware An-12, but seems to have shelved it. A great pity.

This model of An-12 is free, quite good, like old FS9 standard, not FSX but still nice as free product. Russian working horse C-130.

I don know how systems works, still have a problem with engines in FSX, want start, just Ctrl+E :\ solve this problem.

There may be other ways, but going into and out of "slew" seems to work.

Finally, I am ejoying this Russkie workhorse in FSX, doing some dark missions in and around the PNW. Great short field performer. Also the flight model is excellent. Any more mod ideas, post them here please!

Wow! I jumped on here and saw this old thread of mine pop up. Sure thing, here it is:

Edit-Be advised, I still have no idea who created this texture nor do I recall where I found it but it was freeware & was for use as a fix for such portovers.

Thanks. I tried the patch but the glass is still opaque. I noticed the file did not overwrite any original file as I would have expected.
Do you have any files named something like this..? "AN12_glas_cab.bmp"

Excellent! I forgot that the enviro texture is to help kill any "swirl" anomalies that occur on the internal VC glass and exterior textures as well. The glass fix was in fact a change to the Alpha channel to get it looking normal inside and out.

Good to know, I'll make sure to copy it over..

Hello,
How to remove the 2 wheel blocks I see when flying?
Thanks in advance

As usual with Vlad's planes, you'll probably have to set the "mixture" control to 100% (CTRL+SHIFT+F4)

Hello Daube,
Thanks this is the solution.
