After watching the dogfight episode on Lt Richard Candelaria, I thought it was time for another paint..

No, YF is the squadron code of the 358th FS, 355th FG, based in Steeple Morden, while Candelaria flew with the 435th FS, 479th FG from Wattisham.
The 355th had white spinners, with the rudder and a band behind the spinner in the squadron colors (in this case what looks like red to me, but is probably yellow), while the 479th had bare metal spinners, with only rudders (and occasionally radiator lips) in the squadron colors

You can check the excellent Little Friends (http://www.littlefriends.co.uk/index.php) site for info on the different groups of the 8th Air Force.

Thanks, :salute:

and I found on some of your repaints there is no color in the Ram Air. :engel016:

Here in the Ram Air, it looks like without texture.

Sorry, just as I can see it, at all, or you wanted so. :engel016:

hey, that is interesting, I never noticed that. No idea yet where that bit of texture might be located, but I will look when I get back home this weekend. Meanwhile, does anybody else have any idea?

edit: never mind, I found it, they are part of the baked shadows layer....ouch..
