So many different ones, and then I read John is planning an A-36 and P-51A as well...

Wonderful, wonderful colour schemes....your attention to detail is superb!!!

I would love repaints of the two airframes that I've flown in, but am content with anything Mustang!!!

Best wishes,

Martin

Is the Swedish example available for download anywhere?:)

Martin, the Swedish one is available at OzX, where Jan-Kees uploads all his repaints.

Best,
Myles

Cheers for that. Will go and take a look and download the Swedish example and probably a few more. G-SUSY my first, was ex USAF and then Nicaraguan and the other N51RR had a rather dubious past, where one part of it was ex USAAF and then RCAF and the other USAAF, Dutch, Indonesian and then somehow the two met!!!

Thank you for posting all of these, Jan Kees, and all of the work you've invested in these and so many more!

I've been watching the group doing the restoration of Sierra Sue II here in Minnesota with great enthusiasm. Without any doubt it will surpass all other authentic Mustang restorations to-date. Being rebuilt closer to the way they were originally manufactured than any previous Mustang restoration, it is being restored with all of the factory overspray recreated, and only original hardware used - for instance, the rivets that are being used are authentic to those used during original manufacture, with clear anodized (silver), blue anodized (deep blue color), and iridite (chromate yellow color). The new paint kits I've been working on now feature these rivet details.

Stiz, the A-36 used the same basic airframe as the P-51A (the P-51A actually a development after the A-36), but had dive brakes in the upper and lower surfaces of the wings, as well as an extra pair of guns in the chin.

A not too well known type, that just preceded the P-51A, was called (just) a P-51, with only 150 manufactured. On these, instead of having the standard four machine guns in the wings, had four cannons. These were not unlike one of the RAF Mustang I variants (of which there were multiple as well). I bring this up in part because at this time Kermit Weeks is having his P-51A restored as a P-51 with the four cannons (in order to set it apart from the crowd when finished - the markings will also have a great story to tell).
