Hi Guys,

Felipe's been hard at work for the past week and I thought I'd show some screenshots of his latest project, a Nieuport 28. The Model comes complete with a detailed VC, Engine and a few set's of Textures (Textures and FD's still need to be done). The model's designed for FS 2002 and CFS 2, but it should work equally well in FS 2004 :)

Stratobat

Outstanding. The Niewport 28 was the mount of many US Army Expiditionary Force aviators.

Looks like fun flying...

Stratobat, be sure to remind him of our trigger-happiness over here in the CFS2 camp. We'll be most grateful to rig a nice dp if he'll mount some guns on her....

Hey Bearcat,

You can't see it in those shot's, but there are a pair of Vickers Machine Guns on the Port side of the fuselage. I got hit with some Spyware last week, but as soon as I'm up and running I'll take some more shots and post them http://72.36.178.76/sohforums/images/smilies/smile.gif

Das ist gut!

Jasta 11 for CFS2 will be looking forward to filling it up with Lead! I have the Jasta 11 planes flying to spec...well darn close actually. Baroness got me the info. I have a lot of repaints, Cockpit changes ....Oh yes real engine sounds of the Ober. BMW and Merc. I messed up on the CFS3 sound of the Ober for the DR1. So I'll have to post the removel of the Dr-1 sound. I got all my planes to have the Spandau sounds. I also changed the files so Gun Key fires the Left Spandau, and the Cannon key fires the right. I got permisson from SimTech, Stuart Green, and all the original modelers.

muwhhahahaa. Just don't paint the TARGETS on the Nieuport and I won't be tempted to shoot the plane out of the sky. LOL.

:a1089: (okay, which one of you propheads made this icon of me? LOL LOL)

Actually, Jasta 11's looking forward to having some good allied planes and good allied pilots to go against. Lagunare, Luftie and I are getting tired of going against AI and the planes we have. I'd love to see a Newy in my gunsights.

If you boys behave, I might be tempted to put up some pics of the new planes. These German kites will give you a run for yer money; they fly right to specs. Ever since we went offline, Luft and I have been researching, tweaking, painting, etc etc etc. We've had nearly a YEAR to work on these babies.

Looking forward to seeing that Nieuport - I like to see a decent cockpit, 2-D and 3-D, so I can, if I decide to fly the plane, get some good "actual flight" experience. Check with Rabu if that old coot's still around for the specs list on how the Nieuport should handle vis a vis climb rate, roll rate, etc. If you can't get a hold of him, PM me and I'll send the list I got a while back.

See you in my sights,

Did someone call? :D ....Ok then, let's get her in the Bearcat's hangar for some dp riggin'....send me a PM when ready and I'll send you an email addy

Looks like fun, Stiz; hope they'll be able to mesh with the ones we will be uploading.

Why so many damn allied planes, though? I mean, yes, thanks for the variety of planes for me to shoot down, but jeez.

And no Pflaz? No Fokker DIII? You can't do it without a Pfalz (Berthold's preferred mount) or a DIII (Boelcke's plane before the Alb DIII came along).

How about air files? They gonna fly proper, all countries, or what?

Why so many damn allied planes...

The numbers are about even. 10 for the allies, 9 for he axis. unless you just dont like em :)

..And no Pflaz? No Fokker DIII..

Haven't heard of the Pflaz
Fokker DIII that the same as a Fokker DVIII??

How about air files? They gonna fly proper, all countries, or what?

Air files will hopefully be done using the 1% spreadsheet
I hope there gonna fly proper
Just split into Allied and Axis

I'm not the most informed about WW1 aviation but i know a little bit :)

The Pfalz (typing finger stumbles) is a plane that was out around the same time as the Albatros. Also, Pflaz DXIIs are visible in the movie "The Blue Max"

The Fokker DIII was one of the first biplanes to come out in 1916.

Entente (allies) and Central, you mean. There are tonnes of places you can go for WWI aviation information, like Rosebud's image gallery and what not.

That 1% sheet is a B****:a1089: to work with. We kinda went the "little here, little there, test test test" route.

Also, for roll rates, etc, try www.cagesworld.com/RedBaron2/rbhistcomp.doc (http://www.cagesworld.com/RedBaron2/rbhistcomp.doc)

We use that for our testing, and will be making an addition to it very soon with our CFS2 additions.

Cher Rougette:

Lol... you can hang the whip back up in the wood shed. The Pfalz DIII is available as CFS2 freeware at ALPHA Sim, along with some other WWI goodies. It comes with an Historic skin already on it, although I had done a few repaints for eventual AER release, including a Berthold version. I'll "donate" the Berthold skin to J11 if you're interested [see, us Allied types aren't ALL bad, hehe]. As for the Fokker DIII, I had bought FSDSv2 last year just to see what made it tick. Managed to crank out a basic Fokker DIII with Boelcke and Udet paint schemes, along with a Fokker DII in Kissenberth's livery. Both these still need some multi-res work before any release, but they're up and flying. The Fokker Ds weren't exceptional aircraft, but they were an improvement on the Eindeckers and gave the German pilots a better machine until the Albatros came into service, in late 1916.

Stiz: The Camel is lookin' real good, your latest scenery texture screenshot was absolutely gorgeous, and things are now starting to take shape at WWC. All of that was NOT easy to pull off, Sir. Nice One.

I'll have to get Luft to upload it tomorrow for me then. I think he had said something about the 'pit not beig right with it or something.

Oh yeah, the DIII weren't nothing to look at, and were in short supply in 1916. From what I can see, they look like an Einey with a wing tacked on as an afterthought.

I always thought the Pfalz were better in the early years as a plane, but that rudder was a bit more responsive than the Albie's.

Let Luft test-run the Alpha Sim Pflaz and then I'll get back to you on the Berthold skin. He's one of my other favorite pilots from the era; but then again, he and I both have a bum right arm. That must be it. *grins*

Thanks, Daddy-o. I'm lookiing forward to flying again when I can find some spare time.

AER_DaddyO. I really like your repaints for the Pfalz DIII as well as that great Fokker DIII. I'm looking forward to them both.:) I was wondering if there might be a Albatross DII in your hanger. So many of the early aces flew them, Oswald Boelcke for one. I generaly fly the AER planes any way in QC.

In my archives I found a Pfalz D XII with 4 liveries by: jc.kiefer@wanadoo.fr , put out in February 2001. See thumb below. I can't remember where I downloaded it from, but will check for a source if anyone's interested.

I'm looking forward to the N28 - I'm flying a CFS1 N28 now!:)

Stoney:

For lack of a licensed Albatros DI/DII model to work with at AER, we'd been fiddling with Peter Russell's excellent Alb DVa, and trying to get it visually passable as a DI/DII. We've managed to get the wing tips squared and radiator removed from the top wing, but the V-struts aren't going to go away. As you are probably already aware, the DI/DII utilized a conventional dual outboard wing strut design, instead of the DVa V-strut pattern. As we weren't sure how the community would react to a DI/DII with the incorrect V-struts, we've never released it. Attached pix.....what do you think?

AERO_Daddy.

I love it!:p Yeah, the V struts do kinda pull at the eye some on a DII, but not a deal breaker I think. Camo looks good too. All in all it looks like a DII. Being a 1914-1918 aviation freak, when would we be able to D/L these skins and aircraft?

Red Baroness
June 18th, 2005, 20:46
t'aint half bad, DaddyO - but I think I've got a DIII somewhere in my files; I think it was one VonBort was working on a while back. Not sure if I remember where I got it. But it WAS freeware, that I know.

I would fly the modified DIII, not a problem.

Still waiting for the d/l servers to be up before Luft and I start posting our stuff online. Might do it at the library where the connection is faster.
