I need help in choosing a Donationware aircraft. I fly just the pto and I am looking at the wildcat or one of the corsairs as my next addition. I all ready have the p36 and the ki-43. Is there a reason why I can not purchase the divebomber? :wavey:

Olaf,

I guess it just depends if you like dog fighting or bombing.

For bombing, I really like the Dauntless and in my opinion it is one of Gramps' best planes ever. The package comes with both the SBD-3 and the SBD 5 versions.

I like all the DWare Corsairs, but I guess if push came to shove, I fly the DWare version by Aeroplane Heaven a smidgeon more than the rest.

For Wildcats, the DWare F4F-3 and -4 by Gramps just can't be beat.

Hi,
You have the P36.So I would suggest the P40.A truly excellent model.

Jagd,

In your Corsair pic, what base are you flying into? I have almost all of Maskrider's scenery in now... I didn't see that one. :mixedsmi:

I recommend the FDG2 B-17s, P-51, and F4U Corsair.

DD,

As I recall, that's Ondanga-Arundel Island in the New Georgea Group of the Central Solomons. It would have been built following the Central Solomon's Campaign to support the Invasion of Bougainville and also the reduction of Rabaul.

This should be the airfield entry for it as well as the lat-long for it's geographic location.

[runway.399]
id=8399
name=SI Ondonga 27L
base_lat=S08 15.86
base_lon=E157 11.68
base_alt=0
heading=270
allegiance=0
units_across=2
takeoff_start_pos=-400,0
takeoff_stop_pos=1600,200
landing_start_pos=5000,350
landing_touchdown_pos=500,0
landing_stop_pos=-250,0

If you use this data in your airfield.dat file, be sure to renumber to a numerical sequence matching your file.
