"Promizing" sounds a bit weak for these screens...

Funny thing is: in these pics, it looks like an upside-down wing :)

Whoever is working in the textures is a master at it, but whoever created the 3d model is a genius! LOL! :D

That's stunning... but the quality of the end product IMO will rest on how well the Garretts are modeled :)

Which one ? II (with the booster rocket in the fuselage), III, 23 ? Flown the 23 a bit IRL ages ago.

The screenshots right now, it's the Metro III mate.

with the booster rocket in the fuselage

I remember hearing stories about how much fun they weren't after losing one after takeoff in the Texas summers.

Prophylactic with wings was one of the names. :icon_lol:

Looks really great and I look forward to it (or them?).

cheers,
steve :wavey:

Gorgeous, just gorgeous :applause: I can only hope you might consider doing a Saab 340.

I was dying to make a Saab 340, unfortunately that dream is vanishing... but yeah, I love the Saab 340, Jetstream 31 and the Embraer 120.

I am sure this will be an excellent add-on aircraft. But, can a Metroliner really be termed General Aviation? This is a regional commuter turboprop -- it's a bit "beefier" than I would assign to GA.

But, that's a minor point. Again, I am confident many people will love getting this airplane!

Cheers,

Ken

Well, i´m my defense...it´s on the GA assembly line..lol, but not deemed as one, let´s say we´re expanding operations into civilian aircraft, tube liners, and everything related..
Prowler

PS: we are not killing military aircraft for FSX yet, btw, all our scheduled (as in made public) military developments will be released into FSX platform without any doubt!

I've been waiting for one of these "skeeters" for a long time. That's what we used to call them when they flew overhead into our college airport. Spectacular work in those pics everyone; well done.

This one might not "fit" the definition of GA, but there were a whole host of Swearingen Metro models, including some which might "fit" the definition.

One such was the one owned by my ex-boss Charles Forcey who flew the "1992 ROUND THE WORLD AIR RACE" in his Swearingen Metro 226TS:

72491

Departure Geneva 20th June, Arrival Cannes 12 July : Eastbound. Approx 16,506 n.m. Organized by Bernard Lamy, Arc-en-Ciel, France

Route: Geneva, Helsinki, Moscow, Irkutsk, Yakutsk, Anadyr, Nome, Homer, Victoria, Fresno, Frederick, Goose Bay, Nuuk, Cannes

My understanding was that the shorter/corporate versions were called "Merlins" rather than "Metroliners".
Now, is Razbam only making the Metro, or are the Merlins included too?
Adding to that, what about the C-26 versions?

Not requesting, just curious.

Hello FOlks,

look very promizing, the Garett are lovely modeled, now you have to include the best sound pack for these fine Garett, no choice...

Dou you plan an Expediter freighter, no cabin windows ?
Count me in:salute:

As this thread is being coy about what it actually is, assume the use of "GA" means it is a Merlin III corporate turboprop (and not the "sewer tube" Metro commercial a/c), which would be cool.

General aviation (GA) is one of the two categories of civil aviation (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/wiki/Civil_aviation). It refers to all flights other than military (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/wiki/Military_aviation) and scheduled airline (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/wiki/Airline) passenger and cargo flights. It includes both private (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/wiki/Private_aviation) and commercial (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/wiki/Commercial_aviation). General aviation flights range from gliders (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/wiki/Glider_aircraft) and powered parachutes (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/wiki/Powered_parachute) to large, non-scheduled cargo jet (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/wiki/Jet_aircraft) flights. The majority of the world's air traffic falls into this category, and most of the world's airports serve general aviation exclusively.

Cheers,

Jose.

Honestly, I've heard and seen both used more or less interchangeably over the decades. This aircraft and all its variants have had one of the most confusing historys ever!

From the screenshots of the downward curved wingtips, it's not clear just which variant is being modeled.

I believe the 'fence' on the leading edge of each wing indicates it's a Metro III or 23 only.

Like many others, I'd prefer the Merlin as sim toy - all the power, less weight, and better proportions IMO.

If you go back and read one of Jose's earlier comments it's stated that the screenshots are of the Metro III model. I believe everything from the Merlin IIIA to the Metro III (including the Merlin 300!) has been modelled? Not sure if all of them are planned to be finished but it would sure be nice to have the whole family!:jump:

I've posted these on some of the other forums too but since the Metro topic has been moved here i'll post them again.
http://s1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/PVA1500/Metro/ <---A few panel shots that i took back in the spring. This is also one of the cleanest Metro panels you'll probably ever see!:icon_lol:
*I should mention that the aircraft I photographed was a Metro 23.

That's gteat! It looks to me to be the metroliner III / IV or 23 variant. With the wing fence and longer wingtip. I know because I used to fly on them IRL. Oh and the wing looks a work of art too!

Hello Folks,

Any update concerning this Metro ?
:icon29:
I think Jose is done working his magic on the VC (modelling is finished and looks great!) and it just needs to be textured. If you check Razbams facebook page they also mention that it'll be about a month or so until its ready....I think they've also got a little contest there with a chance to win a free copy of the Metro.
"Let´s spice things a bit, wanna win a free Metroliner? easy, post your best RAZBAM aircraft screenshot, it can be edited or plain simple from the sim, we´ll choose 4 of them, and then you guys will vote on the winner. The contest is live until 1 week before we release the Metroliner, which is roughly 1 month from now!
It can be a FS9/FSX/CFS2 or Strike Fighter series, but only one winner regardless of sim version." <---from Razbams FB page.

Can't remember if I mentioned it earlier or not but i've also got digital copies of real world Metro checklists if anyone wants them.

I'd imagine a freighter variant would be included at some point....I remember that was asked awhile ago and Razbam gave an answer but I can't exactly remember what that answer was :icon_lol:

I uploaded the checklists that I have here:

I haven't used any file hosting services before though so hopefully it works.
