Hello,

I am very excited to let you know that the Albatros D.III (Oeffag) will be released very soon. The publisher will be A2A/Aircraft Factory. In this place, I would like to thank Scott, Rob and Empeck for the help and assistance during the development process. Empeck made a beautiful pilot figure, Rob helped me with xml coding and made the whole quality control and Scott... well he agreed to release this plane under the Aircraft Factory label :) Big thank you, Gentlemen!
I would also thank Donald Putnam and Jerry Beckwith who gave me permissions to use sound files (Donald) and Air Wrench (Jerry). Finally, nothing would not be possible without my friend, Tomasz, who built the model and sent me for texturing and animations.

The plane is a labour of love. We spent over a year on working on it, polishing, upgrading, testing... I am very excited to hear the feedback from the community :)

Here are some promo screenshots which I took recently over Innsbruck, Austria. Unedited, stock FSX with Shade

Thank you, Sundog!
Personally, I love the Austro-Hungarian paint schemes on their aircrafts. The one you mentioned is perhaps the most spectacular. I was lucky to find black-white picture of this pattern which was a source for mine. It is very hypnotical and I think that it takes it's origin from the art of that times. I had lots of fun creating this one.
Note for the repainters: I will prepare and publish the paintkit. The plane uses single 4096x pix texture for the external model so plently of detail can be applied. Check Walmart Ad (https://www.ladysavings.com/publix-weekly-ad/?walmart/) and Home Depot Ad (https://www.ladysavings.com/publix-weekly-ad/?home-depot/). As the version which we built (series 253) is very similar to the older one (series 153, equipped with the weaker engine), I think that more interesting schemes can be produced in the future including whole-red plane of Godwin Brumowski, the best A-H WW1 ace.

Lucas, that is beautiful work Sir. Dimus shared this with us in the 'Over Flanders Fields' forums at CombatAce and at first I thought perhaps you had made use of the swirl 'fabric' I had created for our OFF Alb and to which I'd posted a download link in the following thread: http://combatace.com/topic/74411-heres-one-for-bullethead-austrian-swirl-camo-for-off/

However, upon closer inspection I see that the way you've fitted the pattern repeat is a bit different from the way I've done it. Clearly we both worked from the same original WWI Backhausen & Sohne template, and to illustrate that here's my finished Austrian swirl camo skin from a few weeks ago:

Great minds think alike, eh? :salute:

Cheers!

Hiya Louvert!
Great to see you, Sir! We have played so many hours in the RB3D :) (1Esk-Lucas) ;)

Yes, it looks like we used the same template. I took mine from some book printed in my country, but it is clear to me, that the pattern is identical. I only used slightly different colors. And you have created a paintscheme for the "regular" D.III which was similar to the early batch of the 153.xxx series.
Great job on the cammo! :salute:

I am going to release a paintkit for the plane, once she will be avaible.
Because I have not written about some features, here is a quick list (I hope to post an original manual for you Guys):

- 4096x4096 hi res. texture for the external model
- no brakes ;)
- an engine cover can be applied to protect the engine during the winter. There is a pop-up panel to apply it,as well as the wheel chocks
- all levers and switches are clickable
- while the plane is using default fsx systems, we tried to emulate a air pressure hand pump to pressurise the tanks when the engine driven one is off.
- all gauges are in 3d
- good on fps
- I did my best while working on the FD. I managed to keep her climb abilities, endurance, fuel consumption...
- there is a cockpit light for night flying
- finally, the price will be very fair ;)

You're that Lucas! Great to see you are also still flying the virtual WWI skies Sir. Ah yes, those wonderful old RB3D days were a lot of fun. Dusted each other's tail feathers in the online tournaments more than a few times I dare say.

Again, great job you've done with the Oeffag Alb. I may have to invest in FSX just to give that kite a go. :)

Cheers!
