Will this one be a bit higher fidelity than the just flight/wilco one? That one felt like flying a toy... :\

Would be nice to have a good Harrier. This one sure looks good so far! :jump:

Unfortunately No. FS9 cannot support what we are doing in this aircraft.

A new video of the Harrier taking off.

http://youtu.be/tYg-U6Wn9FU

It takes practice to transition this aircraft from vertical to level flight. Expect to crash a lot before you get the hang of it.
The wind vane that is in the front will help you to line up the aircraft against the wind. It shows the wind direction.
The water system over-revs the engine and lowers the temp, but you only have a 90 seconds supply.
The VTOL HUD will help you determine when the nozzles are perpendicular to the ground taking the aircraft pitch into account. That means that 90º nozzles does not signify that the thrust is perpendicular to the ground.

That gunpod tried to kill me one day (and others) when unfired rounds cooked-off on a very hot readypad. A day I won't soon forget!:icon_lol:

My first job in the game industry was working at Eidos Interactive, working on their "Flying Nightmares II" flight sim/strategy game back in the late nineties. The highlight of the project was when we had Harrier pilots from VMA-513 visit our studio in downtown S.F. and try flying our version of the Harrier. After one of the pilots "bounced" off the ground he said, "Wished we could get the real ones to do that."

Congratulations on completing a great piece of work.

Hello Zeus,

In the take-off video, when you pull the nose up the horizon line in the HUD goes up as well. And when you push down, the line goes down. That cannot be correct I would say.

If you are talking about that inverted V, that is not the horizon line. That is called the Depressed Attitude Symbol. It shows when the nozzles are perpendicular to the ground. If they are on the same level as the aircraft pitch value, the engine thrust is at 90° with the ground. The DAS moves with the aircraft pitch but it does not remain level with the horizon.

And without sounding lazy or whatnot, is there any chance of including EZDOK camera profiles with the aircraft?

Hello Zeus, I’m definitely referring to the horizon line. In fact, the whole pitch ladder moves relative to the horizon when the plane pitches, whereas only the flight path marker should move relative to the outside horizon. (and hence, relative to the pitch ladder).

It is fixed.

Thanks for your help. I missed that one.

You’re welcome. That it is fixed definitely increases the plane’s attractiveness for me.
