Hi Gents & Gals...
Wanted to say a word about my new computer built by Ted after our serious consultation about how to get good results in FSX.

Thermaltake Armor VH8000 case
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz OC'd 3.5 GHz
Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4 mobo
2 Seagate 640MB 32MB cache HDs
PC Power & Cooling S75QB 750W power supply
HIS Hightech H485QT512P Radeon 4850 vid card
4GB Patriot Extreme PC2-9600 1200 MHz memory

Well, I really like the results! It's a "beast"; it's fast; it's stable; it runs cool.

Big thanks, Ted, and thanks for answering my questions as well as standing behind your work. :-)

BTW, I've never seen a forum as good as this one.

Roy it was a pleasure building it and a pleasure meeting you. You have only to ask to get my help in the future. Seeing your system at work using FSX with that new 24" Dell monitor of yours was really a pleasure. I am already sold on the merits of the HIS HD4870 ICE-Q4 combined with the Gigabyte X-48 DS4 motherboard, and it really showed its stuff on your monitor. Outstanding graphics and speed. I really enjoyed building that particular system. Thank you for your trust.

Better luck with screenies today?

Nope...:banghead:

I hope it's not operator error :redf:

Anyone have any thoughts? I believe I'm within the stated parameters...

First, make sure they are jpegs.
Is it taking forever to upload, or is it just not allowing you to?
I'm anxious to see this system as I am about to start building my own soon!
Good luck on the upload! :ernae:

Roy I use a program called Irfanview and convert all my Flight Simulator X Pics to jpeg using that program. The jpeg cannot exceed 976.6 kb. A simple right click on your pic after conversion will tell you how big your file is. Thanks again for the good words. I enjoyed building THE BEAST for you and FSX looks and runs just awesome on it.

Hey Roy another way to take screenshots that don't require conversion is to use a program like snapshooter and set it up to save your pics as jpegs or png. The instructions for use are really good and you can save to a directory of your choice.

You picked a good case to keep things cool Roy. Nice looking system too. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v64/GT182/Thumbup.gif

I have built 14 systems with the Thermaltake Armor cases this last year and everyone has run very cool...plus there is a lot of room for oversize video cards.

Gentlemen...
All files are jpeg, less than 900kb and 1280X768. I have a graphics program called CompuPic that I/ve been very happy with. I convert, crop, etc. with ease. I'll try again...basically I was "waiting" to connect and got timed out on multiple attempts.
I'll try again...

Still no joy...I am "timed out" waiting to contact the site after hitting the "upload" button. Even tried a smaller file.

Try uploading your images to an image hosting site such as Photobucket or Imageshack? :)

This is my first venture into the forum and just happened to dig into this thread. Noticed that there actually are people in my age group that are interested in this stuff.

Just wanted to say Hi and that I look forward to meeting new folks with common interest in flight and sims.

OBTW: I have created a small photo album with some shots I took at the Airfest 2008, at Kelly Field, last November. Take a look.

Best regards to all.
