This is the second part. The South Island was already released a while back. This will complete all of New Zealand. Unless that's what you actually meant, in which case, me too! :)

Looking forward to this - although I am sure there will be no doubt some who prefer Robyn Corn's Auckland scenery - To me it looks like they have worked on the surrounding area's in better detail - and Wellington too ....

Have my credit card at the ready

Ardmore airport is a neat little airport in Auckland, heaps of warbirds being restored and flying there including a tandem Spitfire, I go they every chance I get to see those Birds in the air, where they belong....

Well I followed the roads and flew from Auckland down to Thames and back up along along the coast road to coromandel and I have to say its superb, entirely recognizable from my road trip I did last December, well done ORBX. Flew on up to Rotorua and it was good to see many steam vents modelled around the area. It's an excellent base for hopefully some detailed add ons later.

We had a little test with one scenery package with five off us in a M/play , Mike of www.fs-creations.org (http://www.fs-creations.org) placed his photoreal Taupo airport in and it fitted absolutely perfect ! , more airports in the region to come .

Currently speaking with Mike the designer at the moment , requires a little fix due a duplicate fence keeping the ORBX fence in and a few bumps , the new Taupo scenery file will be completed later this afternoon , only $5US . :wiggle:

HAMILTON Patched and works superbly in Orbx NZNI and city buildings added without the large area photo . The blend on the south eastern corner in the little
place called Mystery Creek and Waikato's agricultural venue ... also has a airstrip to show off AG aircraft .

Course directly over the airport showing the layout

The nice little job of placing the Hamilton City buildings

QANTAS made a visit , Johny Travolta maybe .

I didn't think it would be possible but it is.......ORBX has outdone themselves with NZNI. NZNI is superb in FPS and quality. I highly recommend this scenery to everyone even with mid level systems like mine. I am getting 27FPs with no stutter at all. Thanks ORBX for another superb scenery. My wish would be to take this technology to your PNW to get the same FPS.

Most probably will buy this scenery...looks beautifull. Will wait a few days for some more opinions...or just today...
BTW, went to Orbx site and had a look of screenshots. A sugestion...will it be to difficult to have a caption just to know what vulcanoe is that, or place, or nearby airport? direction? it would be so much easier to find the place if I want to fly there...beautifull shots, don't know where, how to get there, have to fly across all country :running:

Hey Mate, I think part of the fun with sceneries is the challenge of finding the treasures. Like, where is that baloon festival? It's a small country, you don't have to fly much to find things. ;-)

I have found the .KMZ file and Google Earth help greatly to pick out some sightseeing flights. With the right labels turned on it is amazing how accurate the scenery is. I have an iPad now and it comes in handy with this very thing.

Flying NZ is just about the most beautiful in FSX. P3D too!

That is the central North Island Volcanic region , Tongariro National park , Taupo being the closes Northern airport and Wanganui Southern and New Plymouth to the West , the latter is also in the shadow of Mount Taranaki (Egmont ) movie site of 'The last Samurai ' :wavey:

Suggested flights (havent tried all of them myself yet but these should be worth exploring:

1. Explore Mt Egmont/Taranaki. Take off from Hawera (NZHA) and fly north via a scenic flight over Mt Egmont/Taranaki to New Plymouth (NZNP). Possible stop is Stratford (NZSD) (i grew up here).

2. Explore the King Country hill country. Take off from Te Kuiti (NZTU) and fly to Taumaranui (NZTM) and then onwards to Wanaganui (NZWU). Should have good views of the Mountains in the Volcanoic Plateau

3. Explore Coromandel and the resort towns and beaches...take off from Ardmore (NZAR the countrys biggest GA airport and home to many warbirds )...fly direct to Thames (NZTH)....then north to Coromandel (NZCX)..then over the ranges to Matarangi (NZAG) and south down the other side via Whitianga (NZWT) and Pauanui (NZUN the airstrip is right in the middle of town and some house have hangars) then onwarsd to Tauranga (NZTG).

4. Explore the Hauraki Gulf and Auckland ...take off from Ardmore (NZAR) South Auckland and fly to Claris (NZGB) or Okiwi (NZOX) on the Great Barrier Island. You can fly this via Waiheke Island (NZKE) if you wish which is a challenging airstrip. Then fly back to North Shore (NZNE) in North Auckland and then back to NZAR via Auckland City. You could also call into the Whenuapai Air Force base on the way down.

5. Explore the Bay of Islands. Take off from Kerikeri (NZKK) and head east and explore the many island in this area...not sure of any airports on the Islands ..I wil need to explore this myself.

6. Explore the Beaches north of Auckland (a favourite area of mine in summer along with Coromandel). Take off from North Shore (NZNE) and head north to Whangarei (NZWR). Possible stops along the way include Springhill (NZSL) and Kaipara Flats (NZKF). There are other strips along the way but I just cant remember them at the moment.

7. The Volcanic Safari...this is the probably the most spectacular. Take of from Whakatane (NZWK) ..head east out sea to White Island to see this active volcano...then turn around and head westish towards Rotorua (NZRO)...you will fly over Mt Tarawera (which blew up big time in the 1800s) and many lakes before getting to Rotorua. Then onwards to Taupo (NZAP) for a stop and views of Lake Taupo (an old volcano which was the scene of a massive eruption many centuries ago - sent debris into space!). Then fly to Taumaranui (NZTM) via the central North Island Volcanoes of which Ruapehu is the highest volcano in the country. There is hot water lake on top.

8. Explore the Capital. Take off from Plamerston North (NZPN) and head south down the coast to Paraparaumu (NZPP) and then further south to the tricky and usually very windy Wellington International (NZWN).

9. Vineyard Tour. Take off Gisborne (NZGS) (the airport with the railway through it) and head south to the Hawkes Bay area (which is famous for its wine) to either Hastings (NZHS) or Napier (NZNR) (or both). You can extend this tour further south to another vineyard area further south in the Wairarapa and land at Masterton (NZMS). This is the home of Peter Jackson's Vintage Aviator Factory and other warbirds including a Corsair and Kittyhawk.

I think that wil do for now...enjoy.
