wing warping, they basicly pulled the tips of the wing up or down useing pullys, very common in the early planes, till someone clever invented the ailerons :)

Interesting bit of history over invention of the aileron. It's now attributed to a man named Boulton who patented the idea in the latter 1800's, Before the invention of the airplane.
It was the fight over the control surfaces of the first aircraft that led the Wright's to sue anyone in the immediate area. Well, that and they were a bit whacko.....
This will be an interesting model to see. Good work!

Thanks guys, Here are some more pics from 3ds Max, I have tried animating the wing warping but its so complex using skinned animations and the SDK doesn't really help, so I might have to leave it un-animated.

if i rember right the 4C had hinged airilons and elevators, so you could always cheat a little :)

Great stuff ! Norway's first ever military aircraft was a Rumpler Taube called START.
