Hello fellow Goose Pilots,

About a week or so ago I requsted on the OzX forums a very different paint for the OzX Grumman Goose HD. This texture will satisfy any bare metal/old/weathered/beaten up/unsafe looking plane fan. With A2A Global-Feel this will make your bolts rattle, this texture will make the goose soo old that I'd be scared to fly in it, or how about through a monsoon? Anyway the very skilled painter of OzX has so far blown me away with the current work's that has been done on the "Bare Metal" texture or I dare you to fly this Goose texture...hehehe..... :icon_lol: I really like it alot, it's more than meets the eye, It will truly take you back in time

Keep yourself updated with the progress by dropping by here.....and when ready promise me you will rate it two :salute:

Thanks for the h/u, m8!!
I love the Redux Goose, and also worn aircraft looks. The yellow, faded paint job that comes with the redux package is also excellent in that matter.
Great project!

Cheers,
Mark

That's some pretty impressive work! Looks like it was salvaged from the bottom of a lake. Can't wait to try it.

It's one aircraft that must be part of anyone's virtual hangar in my opinion, hands down :salute:

Sorry, but to me it looks more like a Jackson Pollock painting than any kind of weathering or corrosion seen on aluminium or Duralumin.

Bushpilot, sorry fella, but would you ever see an aircraft, skinned in non-ferrous metal, displaying that degree of oxidation ? Having sat at the bottom of a warm water lagoon for 40 years maybe, barnacles and all, but not an aircraft in general use, surely ?

No need to be sorry mate. If I would be aiming for ultimate realism, I wouldn't be doing that paint. It's a fantasy piece for a fantasy world known as FSX. I'm just trying to have fun with the HD paintkit.

Actually the OZx Goose is just a little bit more than just HD textures. Some significant tweaks have been applied ....quote from the pdf .....

When the team at AussieX started investigasting this aircraft for our HD treatment it was also
discovered that the performance files for this bird were derived from an assortment of different Goose models;a lot of fine tuning was going to be required to get this bird to behave as close to the real life aircraft as possible.
We think we have succeeded with this ambitious task. We offer two different models of the Goose - the original model with 450hpPratt and Whitney R985 radials and an uprated version dubbed the 'HP' (High Performance) with the more powerful R985-SG 650hp engines. Both models have had a significant performance tweaking to make them behave as much as possible as their real life counterparts. In addition to this remodelling of the flight characteristics we have overhauled the interior of the aircraft with high resolution virtual cockpits. Engine guages have been re calibrated
for both engine models of our Goose and there are a number of different virtual cockpits available in out aircraft

yup yup.. it was the first time i ever had to add a bathroom and water tank to balance a plane out.. One of these days, i'll revisit that model and correct the mistakes i made. I'm just really happy so many folks enjoy it.. :)..

Well this took some serious man hours to make but it's pretty much finished. Expect upload to Aussiex tomorrow (in Finland's time that is). I'm gonna release it with two registrations, VH-reg and N-reg. And I know, aircraft don't rust and blahblahblah, but this is for those who like some extreme fictional bush beaters. Sometimes realism just isn't fun enough :)

This goose is outstanding, thanks to you I'm able to build my Fleet on FSPassangersX with a few Multi Props. With the OZx Scenery it's an absolute heaven.
