Can anyone please tell me how to download the missions and aircraft the Pierre Clostermann flew with the RAF .

I had the mission pack working fine in CFS1 , and I saw a post in this forum from Led Zep ( nice avatar by the way ) giving links for these CFS3 items.

Tried the links. Gave a page........that did not appear to have the files displayed anywhere for downloading. A Goggle Search has not turned up any gold....yet....sigh....

I am pretty happy running what I have ( very minimal really , and and older dual core / GT450 / 22inchflatscreensamsungthingy...plentyofram....etc ....)

IS there some kind pilot out there who can redirect my efforts ??? I want to run The Munsterland Business ( among many ) .

Pounding Failaise is doing OK for now ( .......on medium, unlimited ammo......that'llteachyawontdoTHATagainwillya ya twit )

I have an ambition to fly for a Virtual Squadron.....if I am going to upgrade my missions/scenery/haircraft etc I think it would be good to have some connection with the pilots assisting. :salute:

I sort of do this for the VA I run FS9/FSX for . So I know to say thankyou in advance :wavey:

This has gotta be the best complete CFS facility I have found in my sweeps... damngoodshow !

Hi Toz, welcome!!

The CLostermann mission pack has been included in ETO so if you install it, you will have everything.

Otherwise, if you don't want to install ETO, wich items are missing? In the pack, there are two install available if I remember well: one that uses CFS3 stock items and one for which some AvH downloads are requiered.

I suppose that dead links are the AvH ones, do you confirm? AvH site is down, all files have been uploaded here at SoH.

Thanks for the avatar. It is Romain Hugault, this guy is amazing, check this page of his blog as an exemple:

Hi Led Zeppelin

that is good news ! I will install ETO v1.2 and as much of the extras as I can find. I would rather be able to run the single missions.

The links are dead. I figured it would be for the reasons you gave. When I go to the SOH links for the missions, I get this page.....

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=14393

I dont seem to see the CFS3 missions for Pierre Clostermann....so I also searched the libraries page by page......and I did a search on " clostermann "...
.....which did yield his aircraft ( Spit and Tempest ) and some other items.....( ...? ... ) , but no mission packs do i see....

But I figure Im a newbie here, so Im missing something....lolol....

And it looks like ETO V1.2 (or higher ) needs doing..... :running: ...copy that !

Checked out Romains blog. cool. ...nice ....( i can almost read it....enough to say " nice " )

I read a lot. I read a lot of combat logs ( Big Show etc ) .....its where i learned to cold start a Spit...a bit of help with Kigas primers and bitsnbobs.....
Never flown a Spit, but have flown enough tameplain buzzboxes ( and one Dak ) to kind of get hooked.
If I wasnt Toz.....u could prolly call me Chickenhawk.

So I will get on with it n let u know how i go, and thansa Gain for the assist

You must have links to Virtual Squadrons here ? I will do some seeking, and I will find , but I wondered if an experienced hand might point ===>>> .....
....thataway....

And I'll geta nother Icon....i feel something .....Iconic coming on......

Cheers

hi

install of ETO V1.0 & 1.2 complete. Appears to be running normally. I have not yet found a download link for Clo Clo's missions that works. Do you have such a link ?
I have his B24 escort mission up , but it needs his Spit, so I'll get on with that tonight ( NZT ).
I can see many missions that might have been written off his pages, but no Munsterland Business as yet. I will have another look through the Era missions lists.
LOL....I guess I could always just crack the missions folder open and see what titles are in place.
I suspect that We Beat Up St Ande is part of a pack I must download. You are correct, the AvH links are down.

Should V1.4 be installed ? I get the feeling it should be . I will get on searching the exact aircraft.

Cheers

yes, is it is stringly recommended to install ETO V1.4.

Regarding Clostermann pack, there is the Munsterland and Saint Andre, both of them were built by Nonato.

Munsterland should be in era 3 if I remember well and Saint Andre is in era 4.

Thanks Led Zeppelin , and cjcz for the advice to go to full V1.4 .

Upgrade successfully installed and checked. Clostermanns missions located. Outstanding !
A few differences to the CFS Munsterland Affair , but thats great, and probably a little more accurate.

A few tweaks , and a bit of reading, and I should be OK.
Also a few aircraft to load. Can you suggest further steps I might take to improve the sim ?
I will go and look over the library I think
Many thanks again :icon30:

A thank you for stopping by this thread. Nice to see a strong team in action :wavey:

I will ask again in another thread about Virtual Squadrons ?

Is there a list somewhere I can see ? I ask so that I can hook up with other pilots who enjoy flying the ETO theater .

I think I will install BoB , and some other European .....even MAW is a possibility....plenty of Kiwi's ( me ) flew these theaters.

lol.....I would also love to be able to fly WITH Pierre Clostermann , rather than AS Pierre Clostermann, cos...u know....I am Toz...
..(...not Pierre Clostermann ) .

OK.....thanks again

A couple of Spit's skins from Nigel, some of them may interest you (Clostermann, Mouchotte...):

hi

I have adjusted the flight model to hard, weapons to normal , scenery complexity high etc etc to make the sim a bit more realistic.

So I get shot down a lot more now :icon_lol: ( always pack a parachute <<<<=== new motto )

But I have Shot Up St Andre , and done a few visits to the Munsterland . Its great . The differences are amazing.

Also set screen resolution correctly , which helped a lot.

I have loaded many more missions / aircraft etc . I will just keep scanning the file library looking for items of interest . I like the idea of better ground targets.

I have found the forum subject CFS3 Online with Windows7 . Very interested to try it .

I will keep looking for Virtual Squadrons. I think I would learn a lot from direct contact ( steep learning curve ! .....but OK so far) .

thanks again for your help

As far as I know, the cfs3 multiplayer community is pretty small, I don't know if there are any formal online squadrons still active.
