I remember there was this program called FS Navigator for FS9. You could file a flight plan and then when you selected your aircraft and got airborne, activate the
autopilot button and this program would steer the plane at the prescribed altitude, speed and direction you filed in your flight plan. Having said that, is there
a similar program out there for FSX? :kilroy:

FSNav is probably the best single software addon ever made for FlightSim, lol. . .sadly, it was never perfected for FSX and while there are other programs out there that do "some" of the functions that FSNav could do. . . .IMHO, there isn't anything for FSX that is as good as FSNav was for FS9.

FSXpilot....I am not sure how or if this product compares to FSNav.

it's freeware now; and they have done away with customer support. They however, post updates for the product every now and then.

Looked at FSXPilot, but that's sorely lacking in comparison to FSNav. The ones I was thinking of are "FSWidget's GMap" and "PlanG" (both Freeware). I have both of those and never use them, lol. FS Commander V9 (Payware) is the only other one that comes to mind and of all those I would say FS Commander is the closest to FSNav that anyone has come for FSX. At around $44.00 on Simmarket, it's a bit too pricey for my blood any more and actually I rarely use anything like this now that I've been flying for so long. In the beginning though, FSNav was a constant for me.

How's it working out for you? Can you do coupled vertical and horizontal approaches with it? How about installation, just a panel cfg update?
