View Full Version : AS350; ZK-IE, any other photos out there?

WIP is Auckland Helicopters, ZK-IE. The only two images I have ever come up with are at Patricks Aviation. I've been working on this scheme for quite a while as I pick away at it here and there.

It's turning out good actually, although I could really use better shots. The lettering on the tail-boom is some what a guess.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Are these any help? The "H" is often dropped off the displayed rego in NZ for Helicopters as all helicopters start with a H or I. ie ZK- H.. or ZK-I..

Hi Naki.

I'm finding that anything helicopter related (questions, pictures etc) is not quite as easy as aircraft when it comes to creating schemes. Even at the helicopter forums (Hovercontrol, Nemeth support etc) there doesn't appear to be many that "know" where to find resource or reference materials. Are they willing? No idea.

I appreciate the help. I know I left out the "H". I figured those who have the "know" would catch on as you did. I want to thank you for your help.
Right after I posted at three different places, I tried a different search method. And it worked. I managed to find only the shots you point too. Better shots yes. But the light and resolution keep me guessing. I'm resorting to redrawing what I "think" it is in hopes it will pass. I don't like doing things this way, so the search continues. I'll keep poking around out there.

Thanks for your assistance!

I would think that if it's that difficult to find reference material, and no one can answer your questions, that there wouldn't be too many people that would be qualified to complain about it if you fudged something a bit... I've used that method before, and very rarely has it come back to bite me. Usually the correction comes from me, after finding a better picture after I've released something.

Good point. Although for me makes it/them a "no-can-do" unless the scheme is my own creation. I wouldn't feel comfortable otherwise.

I wish I could view them. I get a 403, access forbidden on both.

Edit; An indirect route route worked. Yes, I have both those pictures already.
Thanks anyway, KD. I appreciate your efforts.

Sorry they didn't suit,Oleboy. There doesn't seem to be many pics of IE available on the net. That company seems to have changed their name but they may have better pics.. http://www.heletranz.co.nz/ ?

You're one-up on me, KD. I had no clue the company changed names. Their new scheme shouts out, now. I'm not sure I like it. (shrug)

Heletranz is a seperate company and has been around for a few years. ZK-HIE is now a R-22 and pretty sure that Auckland Helicopters doesnt exist anymore. Whether the scheme lives on with another helicopter company under a different rego I'm not sure.

I could post a request at a NZ Aircraft forum and see what they come up with (some members have photos of just about every aircraft in NZ past and present!)?

Anything would be appreciated, Naki. I like all the references I can have at my disposal while doing these darn things. As complicated as "I" tend to be.

On another note, the AS350 is about done over for retaining my interests. Once this batch I've been working on is finished, I'm moving on. A "different" helicopter caught my eye.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks Naki. I searched for aucklandhelicopters.co.nz and was redirected to Heletranz website hence the mix up.:)
