Well, all you need to do is have the appropriate sections
in your aircraft.cfg file for the aircraft you want to use
to and from the acceleration CV's.
Here's a sample. The position data would need to be tweaked
for the aircraft you are using. This is for a DSB T-45 FS9 import:
[TailHook]
tailhook_length=7.0
tailhook_position=-16.206, 0.0, 1.031
cable_force_adjust=1.0
[launch_assistance]
launch_bar_pivot=12.6, 0, -0.2
launch_bar_lug=12.6, 0, -5.2

that's cool, if i understand, that means i could do some traps in a tailhook equipped corsair, yes? where might i go to find info on what numbers to use for the positioning, and where in the cfg file those lines should be placed?

I use the contact point data in the aircraft.cfg file to
estimate where to 'place' the hook. In the case of a
Corsair, I'd look at the tail wheel data and then place
the hook an appropriate distance forward of that point.
Estimate the length an attachpoint height and test...
tweak and retest, etc, until you are happy with it :)
This also gives you alot of practice making those CV approaches....

There's a utility called ShowMarkers which apparently shows the tailhook and launch bar position in game with a little cross. I've seen screenshots of it working but have had no joy myself, still worth a look if you're trying to calibrate an aircraft.

And, for those of us that are nitwits, where would that go in the CFG? I looked in the Accel. Hornet CFG and had no luck.

Those entries can go antwhere in the .cfg file. Heck, you can rearrange all the entries as you like ,and it'll still work.
In the case of the Accel F-18, the tailhook and launch bar are built into the model as attachpoints. The .cfg entries are for planes without the attachpoints built in to their .mdl's.

The Alpha Bleu Ciel Corsair (FS9) comes with tailhook already defined. Works fine in FSX Acceleration once the propeller textures are updated.

i downloaded that corsair last night. wow! the torque steer on that thing is monsterous!!!!!!! however, i tried to do the prop fix using the maam sim prop for the dc-3 (it worked when i used it for the mitchell) but i cant find the prop disc because all the files are in french. do you know which one it is that i have to replace?

1. The prop file is 'hel_cors_blur.bmp'
2. Attached is the prop file I am using. I deleted the original Alpha channel and added a new Alpha channel (20,20,20) using DxtBmp, then saved as DXT3-16 bit.
3. There is an updated file for the flight model and some textures: 'cof4ufix.zip' that you should get as well.
4. Regarding torque steer, I get on the right rudder early and limit manifold pressure to 30" until I can lift the tail off. I can take off from the back of the Acceleration carriers using this technique.
5. The tailwheel lock does work but the animation does not seem to work in FSX.
