So, I bough a non-Sata IDE HDD because I was unable to install Vista on it due to Incompatibility between my motherboard and the HDD. Now, Vista is installing and things seem to be going well...

Very Happy...
But...
It ain't over till the Fat Lady sings... (AKA FSX is running!)

Thanks guys :ernae:,

I either am too stupid to Install my GFX card or the Nvidia Manual is just too dam vague.
Any Ideas? I'm trying to install the GF 8800GT.

Thanks,
Conrad

Btw, I have not managed to iron out the Internet on that machine either so for now no Internet on Desky

Are you using the cd that came with card or did you DL latest driver?
You do have vista installed? Did you get all the latest drivers from Gigabyte for chipset and Lan? It is the GA P35 DS3L rev 2 board? If so go here and get the latest drivers: http://www.gigabyte-usa.com/Support/Motherboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=2583

Wonder if it's Vista's security stuff not allowing software to be installed?

Got the GFX to work, Installing FSX now...

When I install acceleration, do I need to have SP1 installed beforehand?

now, This is the last question I'm going to ask...

Is there an app out there that I can used to monitor my PC speed usage and heat?

For monitoring temps I would get Coretemp or HWMonitor. HWM will give you temps on cpu (all cores), gpu, mobo, hd/d's and fan speeds. Another nice tool is CPU-Z, this will give info on the cpu (clock speeds), mobo and memory (timings and speed). I would also recommend getting the latest Riva Turner for overclocking the gpu (vid card) and turning the fan speeds up, as nvidia by default has them set to low and the card will get hot.
