A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - British
Description: Supermarine Spitfire MkV Trop - Malta
CFS2 model - by Bruno "brunosk" Escaravage
No need to introduce the Spitfire, don’t you think so?
This package contains two models, one for the MkV B and one for the MkV C. The difference is in the wings, the “B wing” having one 20 mm cannon and 2 0.303 machine guns, whereas the “C wing” had 2 cannons instead of one.
Each models comes with two textures:
1) MkV B –“GN T” – 249 Sqn - Flg Off George Buchanon – Ta Qali - April 1942
One of the first Spits to reach Malta, probably one of the few which probably retained its standard “Desert” camouflage.
2) MkV B –“U” –601 Sqn - Flt Lt Denis Barnham – Luqa - May 1942
From the first batches, probably hastily repainted in some kind of blue (RAF Dark Mediterranean Sea blue, or even some kind of US Navy blue as available aboard the USS Wasp)
3) MkV C –“GL J” – 185 Sqn - Flt Lt Johnny Plagis – Hal Far - June 1942
4) MkV C –“T L” – 249 Sqn - Flg Off George Beurling – Ta Qali - October 1942
Both those Mk VC were from later deliveries, those being repainted in blue as requested by Malta fighter leaders even before their departure from England.
