How does one activate the Object Placement Tool?
I got SP2 Accel, and the SP2 SDK installed, and I edited that dll.xml file, yet no Tool or Add-on menu headers appear in FSX.
Any ideas?

Hi Piglet,

Usually when it does not show it is a version missmatch, Same thing happened to me, what I did was removed the all instances of the SDK, 1.) reinstalled from original FSX Disk, 2.) installed the SP1a then 3.) Installed the SDK from the Acceleration Disk(this will bring you up to SP2). This fixed my issue, and I was able to see the OBj placement tool along with the FX tool and others.

Cheers !!

I've got something better and way more powerful than the default object placer for you, Tim: Whisplacer!

Purdy Cool, I like the thumbnails, wow, you know how long that must a have taken to create all those, great way to see what is available, looks like the tool is just that an Object placement tool, would still need the FSX OBJ tool to help build any missions.

Thanks for the H/U on the tools, I have downloaded it and playing !!

Cheers !!

IS a nice app, but buggy on my system. Maybe I'm straying too far from plane making to be messin' with scenery and objects, and all that stuff.

To get mine to work/appear:

1) Installed Accel (SP2 is in there)
2) Installed SDK (I happened to use from the FSInsider site instead of the one on the Accel DVD
3) Change/repair Accel to fix the version mismatch
