independance day mission

i am going nutz trying to figure this mission out. what am i supposed to be doing? i can keep up with the spaceship until i hit 90% interrogated and then it does a sharp climb and disappears. i am guessing it goes into the mother ship but i cant catch the mothership before the mission fails. when i finally do catch it, i am almost over nellis afb, about 5 minutes after the mission has already failed

You gotta get close to him sooner. If you get to him quick and stay within a mile of the jinky little bugger, you'll reach 100% before he does his full-speed climbout. Once you've got the virus uploaded, the mission will take care of itself (you just need to land).

thank you very much! i read your post, changed my tactics and promptly completed the mission.

i have to admit i was a little disapointed to only recieve a medal for bravery.
i was hoping for some sort of alien souvenir, like a tentacle or something in a jar of alcohol. :icon_lol:
