Absolutely superb, Rick! I love that you got the recognition/formation lights on the sides of the aircraft, as well as those late-war period bomb aiming marks on the wings.

Very pretty! Has anyone done a paint depicting any of the US ANG units of the 1950's? I've looked around, but maybe I've overlooked them.

Thanks John, Mckennon flew at least 4 different 'Ridge Runners' in his career, the last of which I painted. In what looks like another 'Ridge Runner III' this one appears not to have the recognition lights, some crew names on the canopy and a single mirror.

I can't find this in the SOH Library - What's New section....??? Obviously, some have already downloaded it - where did you find it?

EDIT: It's there now - go and get it!

No, it doesn't appear to have been activated yet - I'm still waiting for it/looking forward to it, myself.

The link works for me and I thought Stovall said he downloaded it?

I've found that before the files are activated for the public to download, the file does show up available to the person who uploaded it, instantly, as well as to all of the Staff.

Sorry guys for mentioning the download. Being a moderator I forget I can see the uploaded material before they are approved. I will be more careful in the future. I was so excited I just jumped the gun. When it is approved, believe me she is a real beauty.

nice one!
Funny detail: Ridge Runner was my very first repaint, back in 2007. I had just bought the shockwave Mustang, and came across an old Airfix model of Ridge Runner and thought it would be fun to have that in FS9.....took me a few weeks to find out how it was done, repainting..

Good morning,

Sorry guys, the librarian decided to sleep in a little late. Approval for all uploads rests almost entirely on my shoulders unless the library code goes to hell, which is why Canelo is changing it and I'm in the process of trying to coordinate an effort to discontinue use of the old library entirely and just go with the new one, transferring everything over.

But If you've been wondering why upload approval has been a little spotty lately, read this...

One of the schools in our district is on academic probation, and when that happens in your town's school, even if the high school is doing very well, the State's department of Education places the entire district under review. All of us teachers in the high school were asked to submit lesson plans and units to the state for review, and have inspectors in the classroom for observation. I hadn't written out my lesson plans on a state form in over a decade. You become so proficient and used to just having an idea and going with it that you stop using the forms after a while.

If I had to do just that, it wouldn't have been so bad. Because I am known for my writing abilities, the superintendent of my district asked me if I could write all the reports for the high school, working with the administration to proofread all the reports and help some other teachers, whose writing skills are marginal, present their reports to the review board.

I told the superintendent that I would not do such an endeavor without being hired as a contractor, because such a request was not anywhere in my job description. For the past four weeks (up until yesterday) I was involved with the project, and had to commit all my time and energy, aside from being at home, to help complete it.

This project is finished. Last night my wife and I went out for dinner and a night on the town, and I told my bosses in the district that I feel most at home as a teacher, not as an administrator. I simply love teaching, not paperwork and all the other politics you have to deal with. Yuck.

Now ya know...and knowing is half the battle. :icon_lol:

I've always loved that video! Even though that aircraft, the restored "Ridge Runner III", now lives in Anoka, Minnesota with Pat Harker/C&P Aviation, Dan Martin will always remain tied to the aircraft in my mind.
