Hey all,

Any cool screenshots you have taken in P3D that you would like to share with us?

I'll start.

Skylark over the foothills just East of San Diego. Nothing more fun in a slow plane than watching the cars below on the freeway, (for me anyways). Since I was a kid, I have always loved to take a moment and check traffic below (when in a real small plane).

Are you running VATSIM?

CG_1976

No I haven't tried Vatsim yet as i cant find any info on FsInn and Prepar3D, but I did do three successful IVAO flights. Here now is a nice pic of all the Arctic family at Sidney Schwartz's CYZF 2010 scenery. They are FSX native 737-200 AIA representing Air Inuit, Air North, First Air and Canadian North.

Note the red Waco? I thought it was a pretty good clue, some local flavor ;)

It's Sedona. The base photo scenery is 2m/pixel with the airports at 0.5m/pixel.

ACK! You are the person that created Prescott! My goodness man. I was wondering where I heard your call sign before.

I hit a burnout period. Since then, I've released Page, AZ (http://www.kb-sim.com/PageAZ.html) (40 miles x 40 miles) and Lake Ridge Aero Park (8NC8) (http://www.kb-sim.com/screens8nc8.html) in Durham, NC, plus an FSX version of my static aircraft library (http://www.kb-sim.com/screens_static_aircraft.html). I'm thinking about Phoenix-Mesa Gateway (KIWA) for a next project. Then again, the Prescott-Sedona scenery (60 miles x 83 miles) is this >< far from covering Flagstaff, so who knows :)

The one on the left looks to scale.

Is the left a FSX stock texture or addon texture?

Hi Bill,

The left one is FSX with FEX with waves set at Medium Pacific, I think the Prepar3D looks way too large. I must try and see if I can get FEX to work with it.

Is the C337 working OK for you
It only works intermittently in P3D for me, more often than not P3D will crash with a fatal error when I try to load it.
When it does load none of the VC switches are clickable.

I am 99% sure that if you are having intermittent operation of VC switches, its because you are floating too far back in the VC and the seat polygons are blocking you. I know it sounds crazy.

If you are using TrackIR with that other system, trying moving backward in your seat, reset the view, then sit regularly. This moves you forward a couple of inches.

Also, since its intermittent, I think head latency is also pulling you back into the seat polygons. Again, readjust the view point in the aircraft.cfg file and set it .10 or .20 forward (add that on in positive direction, such as 1.2 will now be 1.3, -1.3 will now be -1.2, etc). Then check in FS/P3D and see if that cures it.

I do not know if these are stock scenery tiles. I have ORBX FTX PNW, so they 'might' be ORBX. Who ever they belong to in production and design, they were absolutely beautiful in-sim. Better then FSX and better then FS9. (I... think that is the first time I have said that... )

Bruce , I can't remember which forum I read it on but it appears that although it's not a wide spread problem it is happening fairly frequently . I pretty sure that L/M Prepar3D is aware and also someone has brought it to Carenado's attention I have read . Although I hav'nt flown the C-185F Skywagon for awhile it was also kicking me CTD from the VC . I hope this gets worked out soon as I love flying these birds .

I had to turn off alot of the effects. It was too hard on my 3 Gigs of RAM. At those picnic benches are normally quite a few people moving and things. The grass is very very thick and beautiful. Sounds around also. I had to shut them down to keep the RAM flowing. :S

Could be, I was flicking switches in the Beautiful VC when it crashed.
The B377 and J3 Cub work great too and install directly, you just have to manually edit the dll.xml to get them working, I'l have to get some shots to post.
They all have a couple of oddities in P3D, there not saving there Accusim data in P3D but instead are sharing the FSX data. I thought that was a bit odd at first but at least the plane state stays persistent if you swap between sims.
Also there joystick configurators are also sharing data but where as they work correctly in FSX the axis only seem to be seeing half there range in P3D.

DB there is an easy solution. Copy your FSX.exe into P3D then run the FSX Registry Toll. No problem installing A2A aircraft directly into P3D. It also helps with other Addons that won't let you install into P3D.

I already have a copy of my FSX.exe in there, one of the first thing I tried so no problem there.

I haven't tried any of the registry hacks yet but I'm not so sure it would have worked in this case as I tried renaming my "Prepar3D" folder to "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" which should have had the same effect, still got a message from the installed saying my FSX was corrupt and that I should re-install.

seems there is not so much life into prepar3d, but seems a general problem with all flightsimulation...few new models payware or freeware lost of interest and so on, at least comparing with few years ago,...Sadly Many of our best developers are not anymore with us or ceased activity.

I think P3 is doing fine. Silently growing. The talk and chatter is in the FSX room, but many are moving to P3D.

This might bring back some of the people that have dropped out. I almost left FSX development and was going back to FS9 only and found out about Prepar3D. I have been enjoying it since.

It is a Cloud 9 model that works well in P3D.

If I only had a working VC.

The animations work well and I am sure that an AB effect can be added along with the famous F-4 smoke trails.

I had insomnia last night and the best remedy i've ever found was to go flying.. Since i just installed REX Essentils ( yes, i finally figured it out ), I couldnt resist playing.. Hope you like it..

No, after I finish the airport, I'm looking at doing the Embry-Riddle campus too. Then there's the rest of the night textures, more autogen, etc. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I still have a lot left to do :)

That quadrant of KPRC is complete. IOS works nicely for filling in the background buildings instead of using autogen, which can be way out of scale. IOS doesn't do LODs yet, but the models can be tweaked in MCX to fix that.

Your thinking 'sheesh bill, its only clouds'. For me, I never got to fly in FSX. This is such a radical change from FS2004. Super high rendered airplanes (shine and reflections, etc, amazing chrome) and with super high detail land below, and the clouds are brilliant.... To me, its like a totally new sim.

Enjoying my newly acquired Bonner's Ferry ID from ORBX and doing some much needed t and g's in early morning when I had to slip it into the grass to avoid some serious slicing and dicing . . This was yesterday around 0715 EST . This has actually happened several times in years past at our local airport as the runway is bordered on both sides with trees with a lot of deer in this county . I'm sure this is probably happening at several fields across the world . I was watching an Alaskan show on Discovery or History (??) when a pilot was describing on one occasion landing on a hard sandy beach when a bear lunged out from behind some brush and tore part of his tall section off . That would ruin your whole day , wouldn't it ? :tgun2:
