Panther,...most excellent photo (as usual) of the duck in the tree. However,...the true wood ducks are these...quack-quack.

Yes, he is. And wood ducks do nest in trees.

Very noisy and aggressive. They'll chase away any waterfowl in the area (experience). They are pretty, tho........

We lost the vast majority of attachments in a forums software glitch a couple of days ago. Ickie and CK are doing their best, but it's not looking good on the old ones.

Thanks for the explanation Willy. I didn't think the birds were showing too much exposed flesh,....just feathers.
