In 1928, Thomas E. Braniff, along with brother Paul R. Braniff, started an airline, originally titled "Tulsa-Oklahoma City Airways". Operating passenger services within the major cities of Oklahoma.
By 1930, TOCA interests had been transferred, and the Braniff brothers founded a second airline, now titled Braniff Airways, Inc.
During the war, they leased aircraft to the United States military, for services out of their home facilities at Dallas Love Field.

Operating DC-3's through the war, DC-4's in the mid 40's, and aquiring their first DC-6 in 1947, they continued to expand their fleet. In 1950 they were equipped with Convair 240's and In the early 50's they also started servicing with L-188 "Lodestars", and introduced the "Super Convair" 340 in 1953.

With the DC-6 Braniff Offered "High-Flying, High-Falooting, High-Speed Non-stop service between Chicago and Dallas" is what deemed the Braniff DC-6B services the "Texanaire".

N91311, Douglas serial number 45063, was a DC-6B purchased and operated by Braniff Airways in 1958. It was later aquired by the Ecuadorian Air Force in 1971, and WFU in 1978. It now rests in Parque La Carolina, in Quito. Being painted with abstract art, it is essentially a childs playground today. - A few photos from airliners.net

I did the best I could considering limited resources for this DC-6B. I added a little different metal effects for this livery, that I thought look pretty good. I re-fitted the interior with some plush red, and Cherry wood. And the bus has custom plates!

Enjoy!

This is a great repaint. If you could do a Navy C-118 I would be ever so grateful.

John,
You may look into the just released expansion pack (http://www.justflight.com/product.asp?pid=934#), with a couple NAVY C-118 liveries included.
