I am thinking about buying a Huey for FSX. What is the BEST Huey on the market. I am also going to get sonic solutions sound pack for it. And maybe a Cessna 337 also. Thanks for the help

I do not have the civilian version but I do own the ND Huey and I love it. I added the sound pack to it and amazing. With the ND version you get the D and C versions. On the C the guns work. There are a few repaints for them as well that Jeansy has done.

If you like doing multiplayer flying I would suggest which ever one you get make a copy of your sound folder for the Huey and rename it soundai as well as renaming the CFG in that folder to soundai. This will give sound to other players Hueys. When me and buddies do some Huey flying online it sounds amazing.

CeraSim has some very good modern twin- turbine 'Hueys' as well, the Bell 212 and 412.

I have all of the Hueys, and each fills its own niche rather nicely.
As to handling, I'd give an edge to Aerosoft, Cera next, and ND/Milviz in a very close 3rd. :salute:

Thanks everyone for your input on the Huey. Yes i would like a military Huey but ND put a bad taste in my mouth with the ch-53e. Ch-53e didnt handle well and the spot zoom looked so far away and the sounds were nasty. As for the Cessna 337 Ialso looking for a military variant so i can get my Bat21 on in the low mountians

I'll just say it this way...
I feel I have enough Hueys in my hangar, and will have to pass on the Flysimware one as well, unfortunately.

The Aerosoft Huey comes as both the 205 and the 205A1. It is called a UH-1D by the developers, but keep in mind that in Germany the UH-1D is equivalent to the US Army UH-1H. Pitot on top of cabin, and such. The 205A1 portrayed has the right hand tail rotor that is common to Huey's that have the 212 rotor system.
I need to get in the Aerosoft Huey and shut down the engine so I can see if they did the 212 blades though.

I have used the ND Huey, and I have the AS Huey. I prefer the AS Huey for some reason. I like the rotor animations a lot, and it has decent sound too.

The ND Huey probably has more repaints going for it, and I think Jeansy has been putting out some great ones lately. I can only hope he makes some more for the AS Huey. I need a good white Flat Iron Huey since I am from the Ft. Rucker area and got to see the white one fly for a long time. (not hinting or anything ha ha).

Also, I did get the new Sonic Huey sounds, but have not installed them just yet. The reviews of it are great and I will probably do the install now since I have a few minutes.

As far as Cessna 337's, Carenado just put one out. There are USAF repaints for it, but I am not sure about the door-windows being O-2 specific since I don't have it. It seems to have good reviews too.
Good luck.

Yep. The Carenado is a straight C337.
Only O-2A available, that I know of, is the FSD version which is not FSX native, but is compatible.
