Since the latest generation of card had hit the market, I want to ask those who had ATI card about the performance of this "game/simulator" especially in the heavy cloud situation. Does MS make any improvement in cloud rendering for ATI users?

Thank you!

During beta, I had an ATI 4870 with 1GB of ram and it performed amazingly well. 1920x1200 with most everything craked. I was getting 30-40FPS in the most complex area's.

I recently upgraded to an ATI 6950 with 2GB of ram. Now im getting 1920x1200 with everything bit water and scenery detail MAXED (FSAA and all that) and im getting 60FPS in most area's and 45-50 over dense city's.

Also single ATI video cards can do tripple monitor's if you have the screens. Nvidia needs SLI to do 3 screens.

ATI does very well in Flight. I have not seen a direct apples to apples vs Nvidia yet.

Very good, I have 7970 and more than 60 fps, near always.

Just wondering how you are viewing your FPS in the game?

Thanks,
Rick

Thank's for the fast reply, in fact I'm now considering the upcoming 7870. I hope it perform well in the Alaska DLC.

Yup 4890 here and it holds its ground with this sim. Sometimes you get a blurry here and there with everything maxed out but usually it loads the highest resolution textures in a few seconds, unlike FSX where it usually doesn't load again during the flight.

Aiming for a new graphics card though as soon as money permits and then this experience should be even better!
