June 13, 2005 - California-based publisher Red Mile Entertainment announced on Monday it has acquired publishing rights to Heroes of the Pacific (http://pc.ign.com/objects/677/677739.html), a flight combat title from IR Gurus. The game is expected for the PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox this fall. The game was previously announced for Europe only.

Beginning with the attack on Pearl Harbor, this aerial combat game puts players in the middle of some of the most intense aerial conflicts in WWII's Pacific Theater. For the first time players will experience the epic scope of the battles, placing hundreds of planes on the screen in a single confrontation.

In Heroes of the Pacific, players have access to up to 150 planes, each with full AI and physics attributes. The game offers highly detailed (15,000+ polygons) fighters, dive bombers, torpedo bombers, and experimental planes to take part in fierce fighting.

Yeah, but with that kind of scope of planes and whatnot, especially as it's also slated for release on Xbox and PS2, I'm not expecting anything near realistic handling or pits or anything.

Nah, this'll be a WWII Crimson Skies. Perhaps Ace Combat VI in WWII.

more than likely put we all need a brake from realism every now and then :greenbo:

Ain't nothing wrong with Crimson Skies!

Thanks for the tip. I'd heard about this, but figured it was console-only, which leaves me out, unless there's a ColecoVision port ;)

Yep, looks good alright! I don't mind backing down on the realism occasionally :D:
