Checking out their forums when I came across the "hall of shame". How can you expect to get away with piracy if the company has your name, and credit info???:isadizzy:

Well done, lots of respect to them for going this route, really hope it makes a difference.

Interesting thread, loved the one part "do we shoot people who kill someone? ", lol, no, but we give them a lethal injection (when justice prevails that is). To bad he had to lock it since some seem to want to debate their actions in defending their intellectual property.

I understand that a person could have his info hijacked from his PC, just means you need to be more careful where you visit and have better security on your PC

It all depends on which state you live in!!!

Utah is the first that comes to mind. :applause:

I had to laugh, "Go hug a tree or something..." :costumes::costumes::costumes:

They stated that they have 700,000 dollars into that project??? Can that be correct?

Yep, that's true, guess that is why I love living in TX so much, LOL

I doubt that number is correct, if so, good luck recouping their losses with such a small market

Robert Ferguson is a known pirate. I actually called him one time to confront him. He abruptly hung up on me after giving me a spiel about how he had been in the industry for some time and how he understands the game. All a bunch of hogwash.

I'm considering giving Mr Venema all information I have on that guy. When I got it, I called Philidephia police and his ISP. Doesn't look like anything has changed on his end though.

About the numbers, I believe it is correct with a caveat. When I spoke to Mr. Venema at FANCON, he was working with the Aussie military on some simulation projects. I believe that he may have been using some invested money to fund Orbx and other endeavors, which in turn is funding his MAJOR projects abraod.

That is my two cents. Regardless, the product is great. I say take the fight to those pirates. I support Mr. Venema full heartedly, and know a few people here that have been hurt specifically and financially by those named in that post.

There is more to Orbx/FTX than meets the eye as stated above, the thread in particular was started because we had enough..... we just had to do something, whether or not it will help one bit, who knows? Makes us feel better about it though :)

Darn,it! The thread is locked. Really had a hankering to unload on the pirates. One of those days, I guess. Good luck to Orbx.

Good thing they fight back. I'd really regret it if a company like ORBX, or eg, Aerosoft has to file for bankruptcy because there are just too many people who just download it via 'less legal' ways...:banghead:

Good job, ORBX :applause:!

By the way, isn't there any sort of blacklist that all FS add-on companies should have ? With their IP's, ISP's and all that other stuff I don't know a lot about...I know what an IP adress is, but ISP's etc, that's unknown terrain to me.

Exactly what do these FS product Pirates have to gain? They buy a product and then let other people start downloading it, what's the upside for them? It must be some twisted and bastardized ego thing. I don't log on to torrent sites, so there is no way for me to know what they're truly all about, other than Piracy.

They're little socialist brats who think everything should be for free. They do it becuase they can. Please don't try and understand the criminal mind. The only thing that should concern normal people about them is how exactely they should be hung by their nads!

As much as I hate bringing politics onto this thread, enough of the "Socialist brats", please. Socialism is where everyone works for the common good, doing what they can to help the society they live in, and it hasn't been seen on this planet for a heck of a long time. A Socialist would offer their work to those who can't afford it. People who widely distribute payware without paying for it are not "socialist", if anyone should have that tag applied, it's the developers who give their time and products for free to the community.

If we're into name calling, then we can start with "selfish", "ignorant" and "stupid", however I believe "anarchist" would actually be a closer social definition of these people, as they don't believe that the law should apply to them.

I say go get 'em! :tgun2:
It sucks when you discover that someone has stolen your work & you are losing money because of it.

Icarus, many of the big sites also have their own stores...and tend to publicize what they can make money on. Some are better about it than others. The marketing side of developing can be as clouded as doing the developing itself!
Oh, and congratulations on your recent release :applause:

A shame the developer can't add a small nasty program into the files that can be activated later remotely if its a pirated edition.......

You know...Like the exploding ink on bank money.....But attack the computer per say....:d

SimMarket found him out several times too. The police doesn't do anything..... we're 'foreigners', he is not..... go figure :isadizzy:

And oh yes, he seems to have an unlimited amount of credit cards, keeps coming back with new ones to buy the first copy.

I wish Venema luck...... he's gonna need it.
