Shimmer on cockpit instruments and buildings. How do I get rid of this annoying shimmer? I've tried anistropic, trilinear, bilinear and none, all selected in-game. Shiimer is still there. I"m running at native res of 1920 x 1200. I experienced the same problem with FS9 at one point. I can't remember what I did to eliminate the shimmer, but I did. Now I have it with FSX. It has to be some kind of graphics setting, either in-game or my vid card.
My card is GTX 580

The shimmering is usually due to to high a mips setting. But as this isn't usually a problem in FsX and mip settings have to be added to the cfg, it looks like a video card setting. What program do you have to control your video card?

Hi guy's
I get total elimination of shimmering by:
1. Go to NVDIA Inspector 1.9.5.9 (GeForce 290.53)
2. Go to AA
3. If I use 8x sparse grid supersampling=I get total elimination of shimmering....however my frames go down to my ankles!

I use Nvidia Inspector with the following settings according to Nick Needham:
AA mode: Override any application settings
AA setting: 8xS
AF mode:User defined / off
AF setting: 16x
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias: Clamp
Texture filtering - Quality: High Quality
Vsync: on
I have a 460 GTX and my shimmering is almost gone.
