I'm trying to connect a rotary encoder to a BUO836x to use for setting radios. Problem is that the configuration software doesn't find my card. Windows controller properties show that the buttons are being pressed and so long everyting i fine but when io open the encoders config tool it cant fin my card, everything is "grey" and i can't click anything, nothing works.

Anyone knows what im talking about and have any ideas?

Your card card (which I sold you) is to new and in a version that bu0836_config.exe do not support.

Was lucky to find a very competent programmer that has done a similar program in Linux. After some update of the code the configuration program works as a charms and rotary encoders can be configured, axes invertes and other features. It also supports all bodnar cards.

The new programme can be downloaded in a short while at:

http://gitorious.org/bu0836/bu0836?page=4

and will work under Linux. I build it onto Ubuntu 10.04 with some help from the author of the program (very helpful indeed).

Interesting - I have a similar problem, but have no Linux installed. Just for my understanding, can I start my system with a Ubuntu - Live CD, configure the BU0836X initially with the tool, and use it then in Windows?

Thanks,
Mark

I haven't used Linux in 10 years so i won't answer the linux live question but i know that it doesn't matter in wich system you confugure the card. The configuration is in the harware on the card so once it's done you can use it on any computer. If you configure a bodnar card on linux it will work in windows and vice versa.
