The U.S. Department of Defense is currently executing a major rebuild contract on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and its variants. Most will be shipped to Red River Army Depot in East Texas.

Nothing abnormal. :) Even in peacetime, military trains move around regularly. Transporting armor across country for exercises, transfers of equipment from unit to unit, stuff heading to/from factory for refit, etc.

I caught a BNSF powered DOD train last winter decending the Cajon Pass here in California with about 200 US Army Strykers of various type (including the MGS Mobile Gun System with the 120mm off the Abrams) onboard. Some of those can be seen right here at the front of the train.

This train in particular was all brand new units being delivered to the Army from the factory.
