I saw THIS (http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=268628) thead a few months ago and it has helped me very much.

I've actually saved it as a pdf file and use it each time I re-format.

Hope it helps. I beleive it really works well on the slowish to medium type systems. Every little bit counts to get that extra few fps.

Cheers

Maybe it was obvious to some, but this is an XP tweak process. It doesn't say that and actually doesn't even mention the OS until all the tweaks are completed. Vista has very similar wording and functions so this little fact could be missed.

So you would be suggesting 'Don't' try this if running Vista?

No, not at all, just be aware that this was an XP tweak, not Vista. As touchy as Vista can be sometimes, it may be something that you just need to check twice before shutting something off. I had very few of the services running that were mentioned in the tweak anyway. I think maybe 1/3 was about all I had. I went through the whole thing and really don't see any change. I also assumed, silly me, that this was an FSX tweak at first glance when actually it's a tweak set for a game I've never heard of. Maybe these adjustments should show results across the board irregardless of the game you are playing, but my system saw no changes at all so it was a wash.

Yeah thanks for that, just wanted a second opinion before i tried. I'm not expecting much either as I have just about turned everything off in Vista so it now looks more like Win98:d. Hurry up penryn e8500
