firstly how can i make parts move in CFS2?? Like the rudder pedals, stick, piolt etc..and yes it can be done as there are a few add ons with em :)

secondly..xml stuff in FS9, i know you can use xml in FS9 to do animations and make stuff clickable and stuff but how is it done??

Thirdly, i'm reading stuff about smooth gauges (???) that make the gauges in the VC in FS9 move as smoothly as the gauges in the 2D panel :jawdrop: I think the Real Air spit has it?

Sorry if i sound blunt but i'm in a bit of a rush

Thanks in advance

Hi Stiz
Q1 you tag the controls elevator, rudder, aleron then spend hrs moving the axis till they look right :)
Q2 you cant do clickable controls in FSDS as G-max (you can embed xml code into parts) But there are work arounds like imbeding a gauge poly into a part then making a xml(fs9 only) gauge which is applied to this
Q3 which is a continuation of the above the realair spitfire used I think gauges which are in fact 3d modesl with embeded xml code and a multi poly VC panel, the best way to explain the last bit is for you to have a look at
the vc tut at http://www.fs2x.com/ (in the tutorials section also check out the forums) this 1 tut has made a very big difference to my panels,in that I can lay the whole cockpit on just 1 vcockpit entry in the panel.cfg the gauges are smooth as the 2d panel.
the pic is the latest VC Im working on

Yeah Its David's aka Guruswarmyoz Macchi model

Looks very good... Any plans to add loadouts and a single-seat version?

There's a very good book (Been out for a few years) on the Vampire, Macchi and Iroquois In Australian Service by Stewart Wilson (ISBN: 1 875671 07 2). If you can get your hands on it, it's a very good read :D

pretty mcuh but a bit more on Q2,

does this mean that i would have to make a xml gauge for the..say.. throttle stick and make it so that it can be draged? Haven't had a look at the site yet so this question might be anwserd there but is there any good tuts for getting started on xml gauges and how to insert them into a model (or part) or is it a take an existing one and pull it apart to see how it works??

Thanks

Hi Stiz
The site I mentioned above also has a xml gauge tut they are doing it in steps
The best way to get to grips on xml is to have a look at other ppls and default aircraft.Im mucking around with gauges imbeded in 3dparts the prob with this is you can only use em for animated parts avalable in FSDS,have a look at the St Georg (sms_sg.zip) this was done in FSDS so you can see what is doable :)
as I said before run through the tuts give it a whirl on a test model and yell with questions.
