Seems like it's been forever since I hit this forum and saw news of a cool new freeware plane for FSX. Flightsim.com's "new FSX files" library is almost all repaints for payware planes, and a cool-looking-but-really-fs2004 Stuka. Avsim's FSX Original Aircraft library is all repainted 787s and updated afs-design "demo" planes.

I'm super-excited about the upcoming P-61, I figure (and hope!) Piglet's working on something quietly while the flying wing ferments a bit, I'm sure Paul Clawson has some awesome classic aircraft in the works, and I think there's another attempt in the works of bringing the S-O B-26 over to native FSX.

Anyone else know of anything cool in the works in the native FSX freeware department? Anyone have an upcoming project they want to brag about? :)

I do have a Douglas B-18A in the works (exterior is done, but just starting the vc) and am updating my earlier Cessna 120 to be FSX native. It has a completely new vc. :kilroy:

Project Tupolev has an Ilyushin Il-62 in the works. They are mostly done with the exterior, and are currently working on 3D gauges for the VC right now.
Will be a highly detailed systems simulation that's not for the casual sim crowd.
(PT released a highly detailed, FSX-native Tu-154B-2 in early December.)

As with all of PT's addons, the Il-62 will be free.

I've started blowing up the polycount on the CV-580 and basically redid the VC. Can't continue due to not having my FSX PC available though. Hence, the release in fall 2017 might have to be postponed.

I stumbled across a few freeware planes once, there was a chopper or two there as well, I'm gonna include it them as well, feeling generous.

So first is, a familiar one if you don't have it yet, is the re-furbished Grumman Goose by Oz-X in HD
http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/file/633-ozx-grumman-goose-hd-redux-120/

Then there is the Airbus Project (airbus a318/19) **Important** seems like these guys made it difficult to install it because you have to put the pices together, It took me 2 hours to figure it out. If you would like the project airbus a318 in working state please send me a PM so I can pass it on so all the hard work as been cut out. It's a really great baby airbus, worth a fly.

This one is a chopper, it's Bell 206 FSX, re-furbished by Oz-x everything is straight forward here

This is another chopper, FSX Piasecki H-21C Package (http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/syb2.cgi?section=helicopters&file=Piasecki_H21C_MP_r2_FSX.zip). Very nice chopper to fly, very straightforward

Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations has a freeware Bell 206 as well, which is complete FSX native model. You can get it here: http://www.eaglerotorcraftsimulations.com/fsx_bell206b.php.

Thanks, folks! Some good stuff coming, sounds like. I hadn't seen anything new for a while, but I think that might have just been the holiday lull, as I'm happily enjoying my new Sea Venom! (And wondering how the Brits manage to make both the most beautiful [Spitfire] planes and hideous monstrosities like their 50's jets. :)

For the folks posting links to planes that are out now, there's an awesome list of already available freeware planes in this S-O topic. (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?58094-FsX-native-freeware-aircraft-list) I'd recommend you check that out and see if there are any gems you've missed!

Denny, wash your mouth out with soap :icon_lol:

I''ll give you the Hawker P.1052, P.1081 and Hunter. Then theres the Fairy Delta 2 and the Saro.53

We'll just ignore a certain rather nippy brute with vertically staked avons :kilroy:

G'day Big Mike,

Glad you like that one....It's been one of my favorite add-ons, I could not belive it was freeware. I certainly aprove of this freeware heli to be top of the line.As you noticed, realistic VC one of my highlights. :jump: Say Is that Naked Blonde I see there :kilroy:? If you still have a sharp eye, you might notice a few "design flaws" found this site here on the chopper, could fix them up.

Gabe,
i really like this thing, but i`m still searching the naked Blonde:icon_lol:.
Well,i noticed of course these few "design flaws",but they don`t take the fun off.
You are right, the VC is payware quality, the sound is very good and it flies as i would expect it.
The site is very informative--thank you.
Great find!:icon29:
