KBT EP-3E in FSX

I was finally able to find a download and was able to get the installer to work......took some time but it did. Anyway...got it up and flying in FSX now....VC needs some work but....overall I'm a happy amper again......now if I could only find the repaint that someone from SOH did for it using my photos.....had a large bat on the tail. Also got the WP-3C up and running!

Fantastic looking model! I only wish many of these were more in depth simulation, with interiors and sensor capablities. I love that Whidbey Island is only a few hours north of here and we regularly get Prowlers, though I think they've transitioned to Growlers and various P3 variants flying touch and go at McChord.

Seems I tried using a KBT P3 a few years ago and it just wouldn't work at all. Is this an updated model and if so, care to share the link you got it from? Many thanks.

Nope...not updated at all....its the FS2004 model but I've added I think just one texture to it from the P-3C V2.9 from KBT....it was an updated P-3C they put out for FSX. I also coppied the FDE form the P-3C.....Like I said...since this wasn't ever updated to FSX the gauges nee some work....I was hoping we'd get a volunteer who is familiar with doing gauge work to maybe hit this one up for us.....

Here is what I had to do....instead of running the setup file I did an extraction of the exe file....then I ran the setup file.,...it will give an error message saying that your system isn't setup for it....then a box will pop up and click on "run with suggested setting" this will create a FS9 file in your programs 86 file....just move everything over to FSX. IF you get this far let me know and I'll tell you what bmp to copy over from the P-3C textures......its the texture with the prop blur in it.

It is based on a Lockheed P-3 Orion airframe, which is in turn based on the Lockheed L-188 Electra passenger airliner. There are eleven EP-3Es in the Navy's inventory, the last of which was delivered in 1997. A total of twelve P-3C aircraft were converted to replace older versions of the aircraft, which had been converted in the late 1960s and early 1970s. On April 1, 2001, an EP-3E (PR-32) was intercepted by Chinese F-8 fighter jets about 70 miles off the Chinese island of Hainan. One of the Chinese jets bumped the wing of the EP-3E, which was forced to make an emergency landing in China. VQ-1 provides electronic reconnaissance from the east coast of Africa to the west coast of the United States. The squadron maintains a permanent detachment in Misawa Japan and has maintained a continuous presence in the Arabian Gulf since July 1992. The model is the seventh P3 series aircraft by Team FS KBT.
