This is something new. Ran across it while looking for applications for my Kindle Fire.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.maurotn.simplekeypadfsx

The developer has sent me a Beta for my Kindle Fire, and will test it this afternoon.

But I think this is a cool idea! To buy the app, it's only a couple bucks. BUT it is only available for some devices, not all!

If any questions, write the developer. I did! Pete

There is a link to email the developer at the above link.....

That looks interesting but I can do all of that already with the buttons on my X52 HOTAS system so I have no need for another tool for those functions.

However, if he came up with an app that would duplicate the default GPS 500 I could be very interested. :icon_lol:

I have a Logitech G110 gaming keyboard and I programmed the extra 'G' keys so that I can operate the GPS 500 direct from the keyboard instead of fumbling with the mouse when I am trying to fly but having a touch screen app would be really useful.

There's a few other Android apps availabel too, one that coems to mind is the FSX kneeboard, with airport plates, frequencies and some other things that would prevent you from having to go through various pull down menus to access. It connects via USB to your PC and Android device. Admittedly Android's a bit behind in the app market, but they're catching up slowly but surely with the Apple market.

This might be of interest, it has some limitations according to the website, but they're knocking them down over time. http://air.ipobjects.com/products/airtrack/mfd

Sorry.

Should have included the developers website:

http://www.simplekeypad.com/

It connects to your computer via server connection. So it would be wireless. Will check it out later; hopefully tonight.

I had to replace my ancient (4 year old!) Belkin G Router with a spanking new D-Link Xtreme N Gigabyte Router, but once configured this GMap app runs and it is awesome!

With a few quick taps, I can have aeronautical charts, terminal approach charts, low and high altitude airway charts, or colored terrain maps (10 or so choices) displayed, along with AI traffic if I wish. :icon_lol:

Matt,

I just looked on the android market and the only FSX Kneeboard they show is the one I already have. It only has a list of keyboard shortcuts and doesn't connect to the PC in any way. Is this something else???

Thanks

Sounds good.:-)

I got a Dlink wireless N dual band router about 12 months ago and cannot fault it. Great for streaming all kinds of media files from my NAS around the house to other pc's/laptops,phones,my Touchpad and Xboxes. :)

Im user of IPad 2 for FSX and Im very happy user of FSWidgets.
No problem with maps. It works like GPS. I can put Flight Plan too in this tool. In fly have access to Wikipedia and Google Earth. Did movie with this too one day ;) . Connection by WiFi so no cables.
