Located in the geographical centre of Australia, the city of Alice Springs makes up 12% of the total population of one of the sparsest regions on earth, Australia's Northern Territory. Straddling the usually dry Todd River on the northern side of the MacDonnell Ranges, the area is a spectacular setting for an airport with a vastness and diversity in the landscape which is ever changing with the time of day. Using the latest technology to capture pristine digital imagery direct from the aircraft to hard disk, the scenery also includes a 5m elevation mesh to really define the ridges splitting the township. Developer Jerry Smith was given full airport all areas access for photos. For those who love their outback, YBAS is the perfect base, and it is fully NGX compatible too!
Ground imagery in 15cm and 60cm/pixel
HD textures on all airport buildings
Accurate layout from photos taken onsite
Fully compatible with FTX AU Traffic 3.x
Gmax poly runways and aprons
Entire Alice Springs township included
Housing, factories, traffic lights, schools
Full autogen and water masking for rivers
Includes all the Orbx "flow" technologies
Includes Control Panel for detail settings
Includes 100km sq of photoreal imagery!
Debut airport from developer Jerry Smith

I'm sure these are all awesome just as the PNW sceneries are...but where are all the PNW sceneries? I'm really hoping the right team has done S43 and OS9.

First of all congrats on the release of Alice Springs Airport. It's awesome!!!

[..]74S[..] I don't even use it, its that bad.

Quite a tendentious remark, not very polite in a release announcement, morover with your own remarks in mind about ' criticizing' in the Alabeo release announcement thread.
Anacortes is a great little airport, it's heavy on the frames on my system also. Did you open a support request on the FTX forum before bashing it here at SOH?

btw I still think your avatar is sexist...I'm feel offenced by it.

I was wrong and edited my post..........the difference between mine and yours....you were out to due damage to a company who has put out something superior than the one you are supposedly working on, and number two....I'm a pure consumer who has the right to voice my opinion on a product I have purchased for enjoyment unlike you who is a developer looking to trash another for his own gain.

ORBX knows I am a solid supporter of their products but I have also made it known to them about my frame rate issue with a couple of their airports to the point that I don't fly in them.

skyhawka4m I think you completely lost it. You make accusations which are factual untrue. I think you confuse me with someone else (the Sibwings developer). I'm a consumer (avid simflyer) as well, and voice my opinion about you bashing products in a very rude way.
Good of you to edit your post. I won't.

Anyway sorry to the OP. It's all about Alice Springs which is a sure buy!! Nice screenies Jan Kees.

It really looks great!
I like your screenshots and the Cat paint, Jan...but you might have to fly a fair way if you wanted to do a water landing, lol.

Piece of cake during the 'Wet' Roger.
:kilroy:
Another 'must have' for me, ORBX are the reason I fly FSX, and just for the record, Australian scenery should remain their #1 priority.

Wonderful scenery! I waited very long for the first FTX airport in AU Red. OzX has a heap of landing strips around that area and Anthony did Darwin and Kathrine in the north. Now I can fly my heavier stuff over the area that really fulfills all of my ozzie stereotypes (roos, didgeridoos and Midnight Oil).:applause:

You'd have to fly down to lake eyre at the moment for a water landing..... :) OR you could land it in the Todd river next to the spot where the annual yacht race is held....
