Came across this one, great model, easy on the frames and 8 paints included. No VC though... There is a repaint kit available on the site as well.

It's a nice model. Downloaded it a while back and added the 350's VC to it and it worked fine. Hopefully a native 200 VC will come along for it at some point. It would be nice to relive my real B200 time in FSX in a nice full model of the type.

Surprised it has not happened by now. Other options are all compromises. Aeroworx B200 ports poorly into FSX SP2/Accel, as it loses systems functionality on top of a bunch of gauge issues. ISDT is a nice model but the default B350 VC is not my cup of tea and as a result I mostly fly the (now defunct) AFG B300, which though not native, has the nicest looking VC, IMHO, currently available (swapped in a couple of payware gauges) and flies and looks fine in FSX. I even went so far as to merge the Turbine Duke VC into the ISDT King Air but for some reason it didn't agree with the air.cfg and the engines wanted to die after a a few minutes. Glad Carenado is doing the C90 (can't have enough noisy turboprops!) but that is a quite different bird than the B200.

Funny enough, speaking of B200 ports . .

File Description:
This is alpha-version of my patch for converting of the Aeroworx King Air B200 into for MS FSX version. I have tried to correct obvious glitches interfering in use of this plane normally in 10th version of that simulator. For detailed information see attached readme files.

I have searched and searched and searched for this file and cannot find it anywhere. I've found several threads at several sites discussing this file, but the file seems to have vanished.

OOoh, that's a decent VC for the king air... looks like F1 PC12 gauges? I happen to own the PC12 as well. Are you saying I could put that VC into the ISDT King air 200 model? They have a really nice looking model! If I could do the VC, could you send me the cfg for it?

edit: Oh, nevermind, you meant to say you run the AFG king air (not native) and with that VC you added PC12 gauges.... drat! I was hoping that VC would import into the ISDT version.

That being said... I did put the stock 350 vc into the ISDT BE20 model... yeah the VC sucks but at least it will fly correctly (the stock 350 is horrible)...

And FWIW TSS has a super king air sound pack for about 13 bucks online... maybe I'll wait for carenado and then use those sounds...

Got it! Read the "read me" and based on that this is definitely an alpha version of a patch. But, at least someone is working on it! :applause:

Hi

Links supplied by posters, to file have been removed. Methinks because the original Aeroworx Xtreme King Air FS9 file is still payware, so making the FSX port and download illegal.

Well I don't think so. Porting isn't illegal.
Shame that I missed this file. Love to fly the good ol' King Air. Not that piece o' crap that MS put in FSX.

My guess is Aeroworx or someone from there asked to have it reoved...not that its illegal.

It's not illegal if you own the Aeroworx King Air... did that guys' file include the payware files? Then it would be illegal.

I have no issues with what you have posted. If you own the program then porting it for yourself/your own use is not illegal. What I was referring to, is that maybe the new owners of the code and the model, Flight1 have asked for the material to be removed. They (Flight1) are after all supposed to be bringing out an FSX version with the original FS9 code they acquired from Aeroworx (who have abandoned the project), but that also seems to have died now more than two years later.

There is plenty already I am sure, of hacked and cracked versions of this model out there, now one supplies the material to port it to FSX or another SIM. These same crackers, then obtain and use this material to put together the FSX version and ship it out for free in downloads. This is definitely illegal, and sadly that affects us legal users (I own it legally and have worked with the Aeroworx team in the past supporting all of their scenery as well etc, local countrymen of mine), so now you can see where I was going with this. Harmless in itself for us, but others out there make it their business and income stream to steal others work and make it their own for profit or whatever. Sad but this is a reality and I think that is why these links were taken down or the file/s removed .

Regards

Anneke, I agree porting in itself is not illegal, it's what happens, as I explained in my other post, afterwards with the material in public domain. Yes the MS default one might be crap, for people like you and I that have advanced our hobby to a high level and therefore need a more sophisticated and complex challenge. Did you not start like this with this same model or maybe on an earleir version of a SIM. But then by that same standard this will exclude the newbs / beginners / younger generation, who will simply give up and never go further with the hobby, because of it being too complex. So there has to be a balance of easy access to start one off with, and then allow, with the type of payware or freeware downloads available, to acquire more advanced versions of the models, add-ons, scenery etc. Many will simply want to casually fly and are happy with the easy level of the default models, that has to be a given as well.

We cannot measure all the same or paint them with the same tar brush. This is a hobby that is and should be accesible by all :ernae:. And to get back on topic of the original poster, the AFG version of the King Air for FSX is a damn fine example, if not up to the standard of the Aeroworx version by some people's standards. Again that is a moot point and a matter of opinion, I have both and I must say I am happy with AFG's rendition in FSX.

Cheers
