I have found roy's conversion of piglet's T-28C. There is a problem with it. The dreaded CTD.

I thought the plane's panel was the cause, fixed it, but the dreaded CTD came again

Can anybody help me?

Look for these panels. They might help if it is the panel causing the problem.

I also noticed there wasn't a damage profile. Is that normal?

not to mention this plane was converted for cfs2.

I hate to tell you this, i installed the panel... but the dreaded ctd strikes again. I think it needs a damage profile (DP)

A lack of a .dp file will not cause a CTD. In case a plane has none, it uses the default one.

Instead, a faulty .dp file can be the cause of a CTD.

is there a way to fix the faulty DP file?

BoeingvsAirbusNKL

well where is the default .dp file?

Well I tried to look for the default .dp file. I can't find it.

So I modified a dp from a T-28D.

Apparently, the damage profile i modified is freezing up the sim.

Here it is --> 52703

Details would help.
Does the CTD occur as soon as you load the airplane? or when you view it externally? or what?

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Other Add-Ons

Description: Here is a DP for the T-28C which was made by Tim 'Piglet' Conrad and converted by roy.

Just insert it into the T-28C folder and you're set.

is there a way to fix the faulty DP file?

notepad.exe (or any other plain text editor) and DPed are the best tools to edit .dp files.

well where is the default .dp file?

In the AIRCRAFT folder of CFS2. If I were you I'd leave it alone. It works as it is.

Well Believe it or not... i posted the .dp file on the warbirds library.

So i found out what info was needed.

BoeingvsAirbusNKL,

For the conversions which you uploaded, they cannot be approved in their present form.

You did not provide any sort of a readme, including who was the original author of the aircraft, a description, credits, or installation instructions.

I also did not see the original readme from Piglet's aircraft, which either grants permission to modify the aircraft...or permission from Piglet personally to modify his aircraft. Piglet is a member at SOH, so you should hear from him fairly quickly. Take a look at one of the conversion packages by Peperez to see the documentation he provides for a conversion, that's basically what the expectations are.

I will also send you a PM so that you can see this thread.

I complied with Readmes, Rami.

I just forgot about them.

The glitch seems to be in the .mdl file itself & seems to be universal with all of Tim's T-28s. I ran all of the files thru MDLC 190, which should have corrected any 'light states' problems but alas, no joy.

Belay that! After converting the Alphasim T-28 & having the same CTD problem I came to the conclusion that they had an issue in common. It appears to be that damn T-28 soundfile! :icon_lol:

Boeing,

I examined the corrections and approved them, thank you.

I also know that the sim community benefits from your desire to fix things...but there's an old saying...you catch more flies with honey than you do from vinegar. When you make these requests, a softer tone (asking politely, for example instead of sounding a bit like you're demanding) might make people a bit more eager to help you in the future.

Thanks,
