Here is another repaint for Warbirdsim's first "Little Friends" (late WWII D-models) product, in the form of a Royal New Zealand Air Force P-51D. I'll be uploading it here and to Flightsim.com within the hour, and then I will work on making this repaint for one of the Warbirdsim P-51D "Restored Part 2" models, and providing a link to that when it is finished.

I hope you enjoy! The next RNZAF scheme I have planned is one with an over all silver dope-painted finish, with red & black checker markings.

Potential for being a backdrop to a Breitling watch advertisement? : )

Thank you very much, Ted and Zsolt! For those interested in this repaint, I have just finished uploading it, and when activated should be able to be found here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?catid=3&linkid=4915

Interestingly, and I didn't realize it when I decided to do NZ2406 in particular, is that it is the exact same airframe which now flies in the U.S., painted as "Little Rebel", which I also covered in Warbirdsim's P-51D Restored Part 2 product: http://mustangsmustangs.net/p-51/?survivors/186871821/P-51D_5/45-11495 (continuing this circle even further, note the photo credits on this page) :) It didn't even cross my mind when I chose NZ2406, but to some degree I have actually been up-close in person with this very aircraft, on two different occasions (not realizing at the time, what the aircraft originally looked like while with the RNZAF)!

I'll begin working on the version for the "Restored Part 2" Mustangs now, and I should have a link for it very soon.

Thank you Ian and Naki, I hope you'll enjoy it! For those who own the "P-51D Restored Part 2" product, here is a specially-made version of the repaint, made to fit (of all things) the "Little Rebel" model. The bennefit with this version is that it will have a Dallas canopy fitted, as the aircraft also had in service (a very late Dallas-produced Mustang itself).

Thank you Huub, and again Ted, it really means a lot!

I have been pulling together a new paintkit for the first "Little Friends" product, based on this latest work, with all new texture templates and the new texture setup, which I plan to start sending out to those who have expressed an interest in it, sometime this weekend - likely no later than Monday.

John,

I own the first three packs and I'm lookng forward to getting this one. While there are a lot of really nice repaints out there, it's always special when the designer himself uploads some of his own repaints, such as your RAAF and this RNZAF versions. As the designer knows every rivet so to speak, I think that makes you uniquely qualified to do this. Thank you.

Regards,
