TXnetCop- I ran across an article that might be of interest to people upgrading because it seems to go against information that was put out to people.

It was my understanding that the Phenom would be compatible with socket AM2 Motherboards, but it looks like the vendors have to update the bios for it to work, which of course they are not in most cases. :banghead:

sorry if this was already brought up, but I didn't see anything on it.

Yes most AM2 boards require a bios update, but again in most cases that isn't hard to do and can be done in miniutes. However before buying a Phenom processor it would be a good idea to check with your board mfg online to see what is required.
