In Dave Eckerts PT-17 for FSX I cant figure out why the front windshield frame appears broken ?
I have attached a few screen shots of them and it appears in each different model like this !
All are Dave Eckerts FSX Models......any body else have this problem and How did you correct it?

Hi Crash,
It's because the models are older (not native FsX) and the way the panels have been created using an invisible platter which in FsX cuts out part of the screen. It may be possible to cure this using MDLMAT but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

What is the MDLMAT?
And i knew it had to have something to do.......with the spin of the prop too.....because that shows in the very top half of the front wind shield brace assembly.....as the spin of the prop.
Can i do something to the file to make it NOT even show UP?

Thank you soooooooo much.

Scroll down to MDLmatXX http://www.btinternet.com/~mnwright/beta.htm

What's really hard is finding which materials represent the parts you want to alter...and then how to alter them. It would be simpler to go to http://www.goldenagesimulations.com/purchase.html and buy a Stearman from these guys.

It's too bad all that hard work on "Daves PT-17 Stearman Has to be spoiled by a conflick with the braces in the windshields.... it even says on the Down Load post that its got minor UP dates FOR FSX" and i really guess it really hasn't been fully re configured for FSX....... and like many others......"I most always fly from the cockpit".....except with i do a screen shot ect....... Oh the 2D cockpit is fine in FSX... the braces all show UP nicely.......But it's sure not realistic at all !
Yes and thanks for the advice to seek the one on The Golden Flight Simulator Planes site......has every one been a happy owner of the " Golden Planes " ?
Thanks again and Thanks for the link too.
Looks like i will purchase the "Stearman" their.
"Crash"..... in Kansas

Package Compiled by: David Grindele
This file contains a revision of Dave Eckerts PT Series with
minor updates for FSX. This aircraft is fantastic and I don't
believe you could purchase a better plane. Thanks to Dave Eckert.
I do not know if this aircraft will fly in FS9 WITH THE TWEAKS
I have not tested it in that program. If you use it in
FS9 and something goes wrong I assume no responsibility if your
computer,or if the program crashes.
This package contains 12 new
repaints and 17 new Splashscreens and is free for all to enjoy.

Package Compiled for easy install no code to write if you would
like to use the smoke effects by David Eckert. Put the contents
of the effect package into your Main FSX effects package. And the
Aircraft into your Main FSX/simobjects/airplanes folder That's
it go fly, Have fun.

Couple of years too late, but ... this can be fixed, with a wee bit of scasm editing...

guys - if this is a reasonable fix (and it seems to be) can it be uploaded here at SOH for general use? I'm sure many in this community would welcome it as it makes an excellent freeware Stearman usable in FSX

Was this fix ever uploaded? Apart from that windscreen the Stearman is lovely.
